Hail Report Description: Up to six inches of rain fell over Pettis county in less than six hours. Five and one-half inches was reported by a radio station on the west side of Sedalia. A 60-year-old man drowned around 0515 CST in Coon Creek. The man was driving his truck on Quisenberry Road about seven tenths of a mile north of Y highway in poor visibility. Flood waters had washed out a 60 foot section of roadway at the bridge crossing Coon Creek. The man drove into the washed out area of the bridge and fell 25 feet into the creek. His truck washed down stream 45 feet and was pinned against a tree. Flood waters also covered 50 Highway in Sedalia and Highway near Georgetown. Wind Report Description: Fast moving severe thunderstorms caused widespread damage across central and eastern New York. There were many reports of downed trees and power lines along with recorded wind gusts in excess of 50 knots. Thunderstorm winds ripped a three by six foot portion of a metal roof off a building at Binghamton Regional Airport in the town of Maine in Broome County. Sheet metal was also ripped off a barn in Schuyler in Herkimer County. In Delaware County five cows were struck and killed by lightning in the town of Franklin.

Tornado Report Description: A weak and short-lived tornado, 25-feet wide, briefly touched down four miles northwest of Sebring in the Sebring Estates subdivision and caused minor lawn chair damage. The tornado lifted and moved northeast across U.S. 27 and briefly touched down in the Sebring Ridge subdivision with minor shed damage. The third and final tornado touchdown occurred in the Sebring Ridge Crossing subdivision where two homes received light to moderate roof and garage damage before it lifted.
