Privacy Policy

Updated on September 2, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Northern Infinity Group, LLC, doing business as HailGeeks (“HailGeeks,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you visit www.hailgeeks.com or use related HailGeeks webpages, content, tools, products, or services (collectively, the “Website” or “Service”).

This Policy applies to everyone who uses the Website, including visitors who use public hail maps, weather information, address tools, free reports, report-verification pages, business-directory pages, email alerts, articles, or contact forms without creating an account. Additional information described under “Business Accounts and Paid Services” applies only if you create or use a business account, use business-only features, or purchase a service.

“Personal Information” means information that identifies, relates to, describes, or could reasonably be linked to a person. It may include a name, email address, telephone number, mailing or billing address, online identifiers, account information, payment-related information, or other information described below.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT FROM WEBSITE VISITORS

You may visit the Website and access public information without creating an account or voluntarily giving us your name or contact information. When you visit or use the Website, however, we and the providers that help us operate it may automatically collect limited technical and usage information. This may include your IP address, an IP-derived identifier, approximate geographic location, browser type, operating system, device type, referring page or website, pages viewed, links or controls used, dates and times of access, session information, and performance, diagnostic, security, or abuse-prevention information.

We use this information to provide requested pages and features, maintain security, prevent fraud or abuse, understand how the Website is used, diagnose errors, measure performance, and improve the Website and Service.

PUBLIC HAIL TOOLS, SEARCHES, REPORTS, AND DIRECTORY INTERACTIONS

When you use a public hail map, address or ZIP search, free report, report-verification feature, or business directory, we may process information needed to return and protect that result. Depending on the feature, this may include the address or ZIP code searched, a normalized address or address hash, approximate coordinates, a report or search reference, displayed results, interactions with business profiles or contact links, timestamps, session and device information, IP address or IP-derived identifier, referrer or campaign information, and performance or abuse-prevention information.

A searched property address is used to provide the requested location-based result and support related verification, security, quality, analytics, and fraud-prevention functions. Searching an address does not by itself create a business account or identify the person who owns or occupies that property.

INFORMATION YOU CHOOSE TO PROVIDE

We collect information you voluntarily provide when you contact us, submit a form, request information or support, subscribe to email alerts or other communications, create an account, make a purchase, participate in a survey or promotion, or otherwise communicate with us.

Depending on what you choose to do, this information may include your name, email address, telephone number, company name, message, requested ZIP codes, communication preferences, and other information you include in a submission. If a blog or other public feature permits comments or public submissions, information you submit may be displayed publicly. Do not place confidential, sensitive, customer, claim, or property information in a public-facing field.

EMAIL ALERTS AND COMMUNICATIONS

If you subscribe to hail alerts or other requested communications, we use the email address, ZIP code, subscription status, confirmation information, and related delivery records needed to administer the subscription and send the requested messages.

You may unsubscribe from promotional email or manage an alert using the unsubscribe or management method provided with the communication or Service. Even after a promotional opt-out, we may send non-promotional messages needed to respond to you, administer an account or requested service, provide security notices, or complete a transaction.

COOKIES, ANALYTICS, AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES

The Website may use cookies, scripts, local storage, log files, pixels, tags, and similar technologies to operate and secure the Website, remember preferences, measure traffic and usage, diagnose performance, prevent spam or abuse, and support communications or requested functionality.

Where permitted by applicable law, we may operate limited baseline audience measurement by default to count visits, understand how pages and features are used, diagnose performance, prevent abuse, and improve the Website. We do not use this baseline audience measurement for cross-context behavioral advertising or to build advertising profiles based on activity across unrelated websites or services. Where supported and appropriate, we seek to minimize collection, shorten or mask network identifiers, limit provider access, avoid cross-site combination, and apply documented retention limits.

Any cookie or privacy preference control we provide will describe the technologies and purposes controlled by that choice. Unless the control expressly says otherwise, a choice concerning additional optional cookies does not disable strictly necessary technologies, security or fraud-prevention functions, server logs, or baseline audience measurement that we are legally permitted to operate without opt-in consent. Where applicable law requires consent before a particular cookie, identifier, analytics script, or similar technology may be used, we will seek the required consent or refrain from using that technology until consent is obtained.

Most browsers allow you to remove, reject, or manage cookies. Disabling required or functional technologies may cause parts of the Website or Service not to work properly.

HOW WE USE INFORMATION

We may use information collected through the Website and Service to:

  • a. operate, maintain, secure, monitor, troubleshoot, and improve the Website and Service;
  • b. provide requested maps, searches, reports, verification results, directory features, email alerts, information, products, services, and support;
  • c. respond to messages, requests, questions, and complaints;
  • d. communicate about requested services, accounts, transactions, security, updates, or support;
  • e. send promotional communications subject to your choices and applicable law;
  • f. analyze traffic, usage, performance, trends, and feature effectiveness;
  • g. detect, investigate, prevent, or address fraud, abuse, spam, security incidents, unlawful activity, or technical issues;
  • h. enforce our terms, policies, and agreements; and
  • i. comply with applicable law, legal process, governmental requests, or lawful enforcement needs.

BUSINESS ACCOUNTS AND PAID SERVICES

This section applies only if you create or use a business account, use business-only tools, or purchase a service. We may then process the business contact, account, organization, listing, report-request, API, alert, support, Credit, billing, and transaction information needed to provide those features.

Depending on the services used, this may include company and representative information; account credentials and roles; business listing content; service areas; property addresses or customer references submitted for reports; temporary bulk-report files; report and verification identifiers; API credentials and usage logs; business alert subscriptions; Credit balances and activity; subscription and transaction records; and support communications.

If you submit information relating to another person or property through business services, you are responsible for having the right to submit it. If you use an organization or team account, authorized owners, managers, administrators, or other users may access organization information according to their roles and permissions. The organization may continue to control business workspace records after an individual team member leaves or is removed, subject to applicable law and this Policy.

PAYMENT INFORMATION

Payments are processed by third-party payment processors such as Stripe. Payment card details are entered directly with the processor and handled under its terms and privacy practices. HailGeeks does not store full payment card numbers on its own servers.

We may receive limited information needed to administer a transaction, such as a transaction identifier, payment status, card brand and last four digits, billing contact details, invoice or receipt information, subscription status, and dispute, refund, or cancellation records.

WHEN WE DISCLOSE INFORMATION

We may disclose Personal Information when reasonably necessary to the following categories of recipients:

  • a. hosting, infrastructure, analytics, mapping, security, anti-spam, fraud-prevention, communications, email-delivery, customer-support, and other service providers that help us operate the Website or Service;
  • b. payment processors and financial service providers when you make or manage a purchase;
  • c. a listed business or another recipient when you direct us to send an inquiry, report, output, or communication to that recipient;
  • d. professional advisors, including legal, accounting, compliance, insurance, and security advisors;
  • e. governmental, regulatory, law-enforcement, or judicial authorities when required or permitted by law;
  • f. parties involved in an actual or proposed merger, financing, acquisition, restructuring, sale of assets, bankruptcy, dissolution, or similar transaction; and
  • g. other recipients when you direct or authorize the disclosure.

We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to protect the rights, property, safety, security, or integrity of HailGeeks, our users, service providers, or the public, or to investigate or respond to fraud, abuse, unlawful activity, or security incidents.

We may use or disclose aggregated, anonymized, or de-identified information for lawful purposes when it does not reasonably identify you.

NO SALE OR TARGETED ADVERTISING

Based on our current practices, we do not sell Personal Information or share Personal Information for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising, as those terms are defined under applicable state privacy laws. If those practices materially change, we will update this Policy and provide any notice, choices, or rights required by applicable law.

DATA RETENTION

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected and for legitimate operational, security, fraud-prevention, recordkeeping, dispute-resolution, and legal-compliance needs. Retention varies according to the type of information and the feature used.

For example, raw network identifiers may be shortened, masked, or removed after a limited period; detailed public verification-search logs may be retained longer for security, quality, and aggregate measurement; and account, consent, billing, Credit-ledger, transaction, issued-report, verification, security, and legal-compliance records may be retained for longer periods where reasonably necessary. Temporary bulk-report artifacts are generally scheduled for deletion or redaction approximately thirty (30) days after the applicable terminal event or expiration, subject to operational and legal holds.

YOUR CHOICES AND PRIVACY RIGHTS

You may choose not to provide information requested through a voluntary form, although we may then be unable to respond or provide the requested feature. You may manage browser technologies through your browser settings and communication preferences through the methods described above.

Depending on your state of residence and applicable law, you may have the right to ask whether we process your Personal Information, access certain Personal Information, correct inaccuracies, delete certain Personal Information, obtain a portable copy, opt out of or object to certain processing, or appeal the denial of a request. These rights do not apply in every circumstance and may be subject to identity verification and legal exceptions.

To submit a privacy request, contact us using the information below. We may request information reasonably necessary to verify your identity and authority. We may deny, limit, or condition a request as permitted by law and will provide an explanation or appeal information when required.

DO NOT TRACK AND PRIVACY PREFERENCE SIGNALS

Some browsers transmit “Do Not Track” or other privacy preference signals. Because these signals are not interpreted uniformly, the Website may not respond to every signal in the same way. Where applicable law requires a response to a recognized privacy preference signal, we will respond as required.

SECURITY

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect Personal Information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. No transmission, electronic-storage method, or security system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

CHILDREN

The Website is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect Personal Information directly from children under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 provided Personal Information without appropriate consent where required, we will take reasonable steps to delete it. A parent or guardian who believes a child provided information may contact us.

THIRD-PARTY LINKS AND SERVICES

The Website may contain links to or use features provided by third parties. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, security, privacy practices, or terms of a third-party website or service. Your use of a third-party service is governed by that provider’s terms and privacy policy.
