Tornado Report Description: A short lived tornado touched down along the St Mary's Countyshoreline northwest of Patuxent River Naval Air Station. Several eyewitnesses noted a funnel near the base shortly before touchdown (1958 EST). Power was temporarily knocked out in Hollywood, close to where the tornado apparently touched down. No damage was reported.

Tornado Report Description: A tornado first touched down 4 W of Henderson near Interstate 85. The storm moved north and crossed Interstate 85. Sporadic damage occurred to mostly pine trees around the Ruin Creek Road area until the storm hit the Camperland business sales lot. Here, 25 RV's and five Uhauls were destroyed. The roof of the business was blown off. A few blocks away a medical clinic was destroyed. For several blocks down the road, there was damage to roofs of a department store, grocery, hospital, and shopping center.

At the intersection of Highway 96 and SR 1643, a home was damaged when a large tree was blown onto the home and the roof was lifted off. Numerous 100-year-old trees were twisted and snapped. A truck and cement outbuilding were also destroyed.

Tornado Report Description: The third in a series of strong cold fronts interacting with unstable tropical air masses produced a broken line of mesocyclonic showers and thunderstorms. One intense cell deposited a strong F1 tornado in extreme southeastern Spotsylvania County just southeast of Partlow. Seven homes received minor damage, in the form of trimming, shingles, and siding; another was moved off it's foundation. In addition, eight sheds were destroyed, with projectiles from the sheds shattering a minivan window and penetrating to the interior wall of one home. Other property damage included a flipped camper and destruction of an unoccupied mobile home. Hundreds of trees were snapped or uprooted along the path, most in a densely wooded area near the end of the track.
