Hail Report Description: A hailstorm moved across the central and southern portions of Cedar county causing significant damage or destruction to crops. It was estimated that there was 1.5 million dollars damage to the corn crop and 1.5 million dollars damage to the soybean crop. The most significant damage was confined to an area six miles wide and 14 miles long affecting 65,280 acres of farm land west and southwest of Hartington. Other significant crop damage occurred in the Coleridge area and to the north of Randolph.
