Tornado Report Description: The weak tornado briefly touched down in an open, rural area. Minor vegetative debris was observed on the ground, including a downed large tree. Peak winds were estimated near 60 MPH.

Tornado Report Description: A National Weather Service storm survey revealed that a tornado tracked across a section of northeast Phelps County, and through the community of St. James. Several structures were heavily damaged including a Walmart distribution center, the Manchester Packing Plant, and the St. James Middle School. The tornado dissipated three miles east of St. James, just prior to crossing into Crawford County. No injuries occurred from the tornado.

Tornado Report Description: A tornado touched down in North Jackson in the Ramblewood Subdivision off of North Highland Avenue. This is near the Oil Well Road and U.S. Highway 45 Bypass Area. The tornado tracked northeast and lifted near the intersection of Old Medina Road and Ashport Road. One house had its front porch torn off. Several other homes and barns suffered roof damage. Several trees were knocked down, some of which fell on homes.

Tornado Report Description: The tornado touched down a couple of times near the intersection of County Road 257 and HH Highway. A large tree was blown down. One home had roof damage and siding blown off. Several small branches were impaled into the side of the house where the siding had been blown off. Two untrained persons provided eyewitness accounts of the tornado. Peak winds were estimated near 80 MPH.

Tornado Report Description: The tornado touched down and lifted several times. The tornado skipped along Kentucky Highway 54 through the town of Whitesville. Several small outbuildings were destroyed. Several telephone poles were snapped off. Generally minor roof damage occurred to several houses. A mobile home and a modular home had extensive roof damage. Peak winds were estimated near 80 MPH.

Tornado Report Description: The tornado touched down just southwest of the Allgood community, north of Highway 75. The tornado then tracked northeastward, remaining north of Highway 75 the entire time. It dissipated in the city of Oneonta, just north of the Blount County Courthouse near 7th Street. Numerous trees and power lines were blown down along the tornado path. Oneonta High School suffered significant damage to its football field press box, and two concession stands were destroyed. The high school structure also sustained roof damage. The Blount County Courthouse sustained roof damage and many flagpoles were broken down. Several homes and out-buildings received major damage and a local gas station had its canopy blown off. Three people were injured as the tornado moved through, one seriously.

Tornado Report Description: A tornado crossed Wirth Road on the Sharp/Randolph County line. The tornado tracked northeast for about a mile into Randolph County and lifted up before reaching Upper Janes Creek Road. The tornado only produced some damage to trees in the area. No residences or other buildings were in the path of the tornado.

Tornado Report Description: The tornado briefly touched down just south of Locust Fork, along Spunky Hollow Road near Azzilee Circle. A substantial workshop structure collapsed due to wall failure, as the entire roof was removed and pushed off. A home under construction was completely destroyed, and several other homes suffered roof and shingle damage. Several trees were knocked down along the path.

Tornado Report Description: A strong tornado moved from eastern Fulton County into northern Sharp County. The tornado tracked from 5 miles southwest of Wirth to 1.8 miles east of Wirth. The tornado badly damaged two barns, with minor damaged at several residences. Three stock trailers were also overturned. Dozens of trees were downed, along with power poles and power lines. The tornado continued into Randolph County of the Memphis County Warning Area.

Tornado Report Description: A weak tornado moved from eastern Izard County into western Sharp County. The tornado tracked from 5.8 miles north-northwest of Evening Shade to 5 miles south-southeast of Ash Flat. The tornado damaged several homes, with mostly roof damage noted. A mobile home and recreational vehicle were overturned, and another mobile home was partially destroyed. The tornado also snapped or uprooted dozens of trees before dissipating.

Tornado Report Description: A weak tornado was spawned in eastern Izard County. The tornado tracked from 4.5 miles southeast of Franklin to 3.5 miles south-southeast of Myron. The tornado snapped or uprooted dozens of trees before continuing into Sharp County.

The tornado destroyed a home, and caused damage to several other homes. Hundreds of trees were downed, with one tree on a pickup truck. The tornado continued into northern Sharp County.

Tornado Report Description: A weak tornado was spawned in eastern Izard County. The tornado tracked from 1.4 miles southeast of Franklin to 1 mile south-southeast of Myron. The tornado snapped or uprooted dozens of trees.

Tornado Report Description: The tornado initially touched down in the southwest side of Albertville between Whitesville Road and South Broad Street. At this stage, the tornado was 40 yards wide producing F0 intensity winds up to 60 mph for along a one quarter mile path. Then the tornado increased to F1 intensity with winds up to 100 mph along a path width of 500 yards. Several trees were snapped and uprooted in its path. Several homes sustained minor roof, awning, and gutter damage. The tornado continued its path north-northeast into western Albertville before dissipating.

Tornado Report Description: The tornado touched down briefly between the Lehigh Community and AL-79. One mobile home and one barn were completely destroyed. Two automobiles and one motorcycle were lifted from inside a barn and thrown at least 50 yards. Numerous trees and power lines were blown down along its damage path.

Tornado Report Description: A small tornado was filmed at Loyola University on the north side of Chicago, near Sheridan Road and Devon Avenue. The tornado quickly moved east over Lake Michigan. The only damage reported were trees and tree limbs blown down in the area near where the tornado touched down.

Tornado Report Description: A weak tornado was spawned in northern Stone County. The tornado tracked from 4 miles north-northwest of Fifty Six to 2 miles west of Optimus. The tornado stayed in the Ozark National Forest, with several trees snapped or uprooted.

Tornado Report Description: A state trooper reported that a tornado briefly touched down in a field just north of Interstate 72 near Valley City. No damage or injuries were reported.

Tornado Report Description: Most of the structural damage from this tornado occurred in Dixon, where two homes received major damage, and numerous others sustained minor damage. There was extensive roof damage at an apartment building and a grocery store in Dixon. Damage to roofs and outbuildings was the most common type of damage. A total of 28 structures were damaged, mostly due to falling trees. All along the tornado path, numerous trees were uprooted or topped, and some utility poles were snapped. Some trees fell across roads, blocking them. Kentucky Highway 138 was blocked for a time. Other trees fell on structures such as the grocery store in Dixon. Peak winds were estimated near 110 MPH. In Dixon, a wind gust to 111 MPH was measured by the deputy emergency management director using Davis wind equipment. This tornado was spawned by the same supercell thunderstorm that produced a tornado in Crittenden County.

Tornado Report Description: Trained spotters and law enforcement spotted a tornado which likely made sporadic touchdowns along an estimated 4 mile path. A state trooper viewed the tornado crossing U.S. Highway 43 lifting off the ground over the Spring Valley community. No damage was observed.

Tornado Report Description: A weak tornado was spawned in southern Marion County. The tornado was on the ground briefly about 2 miles south-southeast of Rush. The tornado had difficulty reaching the ground, and downed a few trees on a hilltop.

Tornado Report Description: The tornado touched down two tenths of a mile southwest of Fletcher and moved northeast into Fletcher. The tornado caused minor exterior and roof damage to a mobile home in Fletcher. There was also damage to trees including a 12 inch diameter cedar tree that was snapped off at ground level. The tornado was 100 yards wide and damage was rated F1 in intensity at this location. The tornado continued to the northeast and dissipated half a mile northeast of Fletcher. No injuries or deaths were reported.

Tornado Report Description: The tornado touched down 6 miles west of Pilot Knob on Route N where it destroyed a mobile home and blew down several trees and numerous tree limbs. The damage path was about 40 yards wide and was rated F1 in intensity. The tornado then traveled east towards Snow Hollow Lake. A ranch home was severely damaged along the north side of the lake. The tornado then hit several large trees along the east side of the lake. The damage path was 100 yards wide in this location with F2 intensity. The tornado continued moving to the east for another mile before lifting and dissipating. No injuries or deaths were reported.

Tornado Report Description: A trained spotter reported that a tornado briefly touched down in a field near Radom. No damage or injuries were reported.

Tornado Report Description: A small and brief tornado was witnessed and photographed by two residents along Highway 69 just northeast of Arab looking west along State Highway 69. Trees were knocked down near the location of the photographed tornado, but it is not certain if this damage was directly related to the tornado or its parent thunderstorm.

Tornado Report Description: Numerous trees were topped or uprooted. One mobile home that was not tied down was destroyed. Several outbuildings were destroyed. Trees fell on the roofs of several homes. Many homes received minor roof damage. Peak winds were estimated near 100 MPH. This tornado was spawned by the same supercell thunderstorm that earlier produced a tornado in Livingston County, and would later produce another tornado in Webster County.

Tornado Report Description: This tornado crossed the Mississippi River from Perry County, Missouri. The tornado weakened from its maximum F-4 intensity to F-2 intensity by the time it entered Jackson County in the Mississippi River bottomlands near Wilkinson Island. At this location, the wall of an old two-story farmhouse was blown out, and the roof was blown off. Hundreds of trees were broken off. Tree damage was visible across the river in Perry County, Missouri. The path width was estimated to be 200 yards wide on the Jackson County side of the river. Before reaching Illinois Route 3, the F-2 tornado widened to 250 yards and destroyed a mobile home. A resident of the mobile home was sent to the hospital. Nearby, a house was unroofed, and trees were snapped or uprooted. Another house lost a room that was added on. A swing set was blown 200 yards and wrapped around a mailbox. An empty tractor trailer rig was overturned. An empty grain bin was blown 100 yards into a field. Full grain bins were severely damaged but remained in place. The roof was blown off a brick house. As the tornado crossed Route 3, high tension utility poles were snapped off, hundreds of acres of corn were flattened, and trees were uprooted. Route 3 was closed for nine hours. From Route 3, the tornado proceeded east-northeast through mostly rural areas of the county, including the Kinkaid Lake State Wildlife Area. The tornado weakened to F-0 intensity before reaching Kinkaid Lake. At the Kinkaid Lake marina, about 50 RV's and boats were damaged, and trees were broken off. The tornado finally lifted shortly after crossing Highway 127 north of Murphysboro. The damage along Highway 127 was about 75 yards wide and consisted of broken tree limbs. A state trooper videotaped the tornado before it lifted. Storm chasers also videotaped the tornado. Peak winds where F-2 damage occurred in western Jackson County were estimated near 150 MPH. The average path width was about 150 yards. A total of about six homes were destroyed or severely damaged, and a dozen others were damaged to a lesser degree. Dozens of other non-residential buildings, such as garages, sheds, barns, and carports, were destroyed. Along the path, striations were evident in fields, and scores of utility poles were snapped off. There were numerous reports of debris falling from the sky in neighboring Perry County, Illinois. Debris as large as pieces of siding and roofing was reported in Du Quoin.

Tornado Report Description: This violent F-4 tornado reached its maximum intensity near the village of Crosstown, where peak winds were estimated near 210 MPH. Along the Perry County portion of the tornado track, 62 homes were destroyed, 17 had major damage, and 23 received minor damage. Ten of the destroyed homes were mobile homes, and seven that sustained major damage were mobile homes. Three churches were destroyed or heavily damaged. Numerous vehicles were tossed. Over 100 utility poles were broken off. Hundreds of trees were broken off or uprooted. The tornado first touched down at County Road 302 near Friedenburg, where F-1 winds destroyed a barn and partially unroofed a two-story house. There were also downed trees, including a few that fell on a house. As the tornado continued northeast across County Road 316 between Crosstown and Friedenburg, it widened to about 100 yards. Scores of trees were broken off or uprooted, and the roof was blown off a house. The tornado strengthened to F-3 intensity as it reached the junction of Highways P and C in Crosstown. The roof was torn off a church, windows were broken, and other structural damage occurred. Nearby, the roof was blown off a two-story brick store that was over 100 years old. An overturned vehicle was in the front yard, and trees were mangled. The width increased to 220 yards. In the center of Crosstown on Highway C, the tornado reached F-4 intensity. This is where a site-built house was levelled. The F-4 damage continued east along County Road 350 in Crosstown, where two more site-built houses were levelled. Only the bolted-down floor of one residence remained. An eyewitness along County Road 350 stated he took shelter in the basement after seeing fog coming directly toward him. His house remained mostly intact, except for the roof and garage. The tornado weakened to F-3 intensity about one to two miles east of Crosstown, where a modular home was destroyed except for the bathroom. A vehicle was tossed in the yard. The weakening trend continued east along County Road 350 to the Mississippi River, where many trees were uprooted and broken off. Some outbuildings were thrown around. The path width decreased to 75 yards as the intensity lowered to F-1. The average path width was 150 yards. There were five injuries requiring medical attention, including one broken arm. Two people were moderately injured when the vehicle they were driving was tossed into a house. Dozens of other residents received minor injuries but did not seek medical attention. Where the tornado crossed the Mississippi River, a barge loaded with coal was pushed to the shoreline. The windows were blown out of the tug boat, and enough coal was blown into the tug boat that it was shovelled out. The tornado crossed the Mississippi River into Jackson County, Illinois.

Tornado Report Description: The tornado crossed the Ohio River from Pope County, Illinois into Livingston County in densely forested areas interspersed with some farmland. The average width of this upper-end F1 tornado was close to 300 yards. Peak winds were estimated near 110 MPH. One mobile home was destroyed, and roofs were partially torn off two houses. Eighteen homes sustained minor damage, consisting mostly of roofing and siding blown off. Twenty barns were heavily damaged or destroyed. Six silos were destroyed, including two of rebar-reinforced concrete construction. The tornado was videotaped by a camper from a bluff overlooking the Ohio River. The footage was shot from within Pope County, Illinois looking east across the river.

Tornado Report Description: This tornado originated in Pope County and crossed the Ohio River into Livingston County, Kentucky. Two distinct paths of mainly tree damage were found south of Bay City in Pope County. Both showed signs of convergence, and this appeared to be the result of a multiple vortex tornado. The main damage path was about 300 yards wide with peak winds of 80 MPH. The second damage path was about two-tenths of a mile south of the first path and was about 100 yards wide. Peak winds with this path were estimated near 75 MPH. Mainly tree damage was seen with the second vortex. Citizens reported one tornado crossing the Ohio River into Kentucky. A camper on a bluff in the Shawnee National Forest videotaped the tornado after it crossed the river. A radio tower, numerous trees, and some power lines were down in the Bay City area.

Tornado Report Description: The tornado entered Perry County from the extreme southeast corner of St. Francois County. The tornado was at its strongest along and north of County Road 738, shortly after entering Perry County. In this area, the damage path was about 400 yards wide, and peak winds were estimated near 120 MPH. A farm building was levelled, roofs were torn off houses, and dozens of acres of trees were flattened. The tornado weakened to F-1 intensity as it crossed Highway BB, where nearly 100 trees were uprooted and roofs were partially damaged. The path width was estimated around 200 yards at Highway BB. As the tornado continued east across County Road 730, a barn was destroyed, and dozens of trees were down. The path width was about 100 yards when the tornado reached Lake Perry, close to where it lifted along Highway T. At a campground on Lake Perry, recreational vehicles were overturned and damaged by falling trees. The path ended southwest of Silver Lake at Highway T. The average path width was 200 yards. In total, hundreds of acres of timber were flattened, several barns were destroyed, and others were severely damaged. Shingles and decking were ripped off several homes. The parent supercell that produced this tornado later produced a separate F-4 tornado in eastern parts of Perry County.

Tornado Report Description: As the tornado moved into St. Francois County from Madison County, it crossed Martin Road. One home sustained roof and garage damage, while a small machine shed was completely destroyed. Numerous large trees were blown down or snapped off. The width of the damage path was two tenths of a mile and was rated F1 in intensity in this location. The tornado continued to the east and moved into Perry County (WFO Paduch's county warning area) just north of County Road 738. No injuries or deaths were reported.

Tornado Report Description: The tornado touched down just west of Route K approximately one mile north of Highway 72. As it traveled east, numerous trees and tree limbs were blown down. The tornado moved across U.S. Highway 67 about 4 miles northwest of Fredericktown, knocking down additional trees and tree limbs. The damage path was about 50 yards wide with a damage intensity of F0. As it approached the Fredericktown Municipal Airport, along Copper Mines Road, it began to produce multiple vortices. Two tornadic damage tracks were uncovered across a lake west of Highway OO along County Roads 271 and 272. Over 20 homes, mobile homes and machine sheds sustained varying degrees of damage. Several witnesses observed twin tornadoes merging into one large tornado over this area. The width of the damage path of the northern track was approximately 150 yards wide while the southern damage path was about 100 yards wide. The damage intensity ranged from F1 to F2 in this location. As the large tornado crossed Highway OO, five homes, four mobile homes and several machine sheds sustained varying degrees of damage. The damage path was 300 yards wide and high end F1 intensity. The tornado continued east along County Road 217. Four homes sustained F1 to F2 damage with debris from two of the homes thrown between 50 to 100 yards to the east. Also, numerous trees were either snapped or uprooted in this area. The width of the damage path in this area was about 250 yards. Further east, two tornadic damage tracks were uncovered about half a mile to a mile north of the intersection of County Roads 215 and 217. Four homes sustained varying degrees of damage while one mobile home was completely destroyed. One person was critically injured near the destroyed mobile home. Debris from the mobile home was tossed over 150 yards to the east. The width of the northern damage path was about 150 yards, while the width of the southern track was about 50 yards. The damage was rated high end F1 in this location. Witnesses observed the twin tornadoes merge again into one large funnel as it crossed a second small lake north of County Road 217. Four homes and several machine sheds sustained damage. Also, over a thousand trees around the lake were snapped or uprooted. The damage path was a quarter of a mile wide in this location and was rated F1 to low end F2. The tornado continued eastward into northeast Madison County crossing County Road 219 just south of the Madison/St. Francois County line. Three homes were damaged and three machine sheds were destroyed, as well as thousands of trees snapped or uprooted. The width of the damage path in this area was half a mile and was rated F2. The tornado then crossed into extreme southeastern St. Francois County near Martin Road.

Tornado Report Description: As the tornado moved into Jefferson County from Washington County, it was 50 yards wide and produced F1 damage to trees just north of County Road H. The tornado dissipated just northeast of this location, just to the northwest of Fletcher. No injuries or deaths were reported.

Tornado Report Description: This tornado, which contained peak winds near 160 MPH, struck between Joppa and the Metropolis airport. The damage path started about a mile from the Ohio River, where F-1 winds uprooted numerous trees. As the tornado crossed U.S. Highway 45 near Joppa Road, a barn was destroyed. The tornado then strengthened to F-3 intensity, destroying a log home. The roof and an exterior wall of the well-constructed log home were blown about one-half mile. Another house nearby sustained major damage. Four mobile homes were destroyed, along with garages and outbuildings. Part of a double wide mobile home blew into a church sanctuary. Six vehicles were tossed up to 100 yards. At least one of the vehicles landed in a pond. The only two persons injured were residents of a destroyed mobile home. The worst of the injuries was a broken arm. Hundreds of trees were broken or uprooted, and numerous trees fell on cars. Numerous power poles were downed. A seriously injured dog was found in a ditch one quarter mile away. The most intense damage, where vehicles were tossed, occurred about two-thirds of the way along the damage path near Red Oak Road. The tornado was witnessed by the general public. The average path width was 100 yards.

Tornado Report Description: The tornado touched down in Washington County just south of County Road H, 1.6 miles west of the intersection of County Roads H and WW. The tornado removed the roof of a pole barn. Damage at this location was rated F1. The tornado continued east just south of County Road H for another mile where it damaged the roof of another pole barn and numerous trees. The damage width in this location was 100 yards wide and rated F1 in intensity. The tornado continued to the east northeast and crossed County Road H as it goes into Jefferson County, which is approximately three tenths of a mile west of the intersection with County Road WW. No injuries or deaths were reported.

Tornado Report Description: The tornado touched down just south of County Road A, west of the intersection of Road A and State Highway 47. The tornado was 50 yards wide with tree damage in this location. The tornado traveled to the east northeast, just south of Richwoods. The tornado crossed State Highway 47 half a mile south of the intersection with County Roads A and H. The tornado damaged a roof on a home at this location and produced significant damage to trees. Debris from the house was thrown 200 yards to the southeast. At this location, the tornado was 150 yards wide with F1 intensity damage. The tornado continued east northeast and lifted three-quarters of a mile east of State Highway 47 on County Road H. No injuries or deaths were reported.

Tornado Report Description: As the tornado moved into Iron County from Reynolds County, it tracked northeast paralleling Route N for a mile, resulting in a long swath of continuous damage which spanned both sides of the road. Numerous trees were either uprooted or snapped, 5 homes sustained roof and exterior damage, and a mobile home was flipped on its side. The damage path was around a third of a mile wide and was rated high end F1. The tornado then narrowed and moved across the southeast portion of Snow Hollow Lake where trees were snapped and uprooted. Two homes sustained moderate damage due to the tornado and fallen trees. The damage path was about 75 yards wide and was rated F1 in intensity. The tornado continued northeast crossing Highway 21 around a mile north of Pilot Knob. Several homes on each side of the highway and a day care center on the west side received minor roof damage. Trees were also snapped and uprooted. The tornado then crossed Middlebrook Road where one home lost a portion of its roof, a mobile home sustained moderate damage and a machine shed was destroyed. This damage was rated F1 in intensity and was about 100 yards wide. The tornado then moved up the ridge line further east snapping a number of trees half way up. The tornado then crossed Route V around half a mile south of the Iron/St. Francois County line, snapping and topping trees on both sides of the road. The damage path was about 40 yards wide and was rated F1. It appears the tornado lifted just south of the Iron/St. Francois County line around a mile northeast of Route V. No injuries or deaths were reported.

Tornado Report Description: The tornado initially touched down 1.5 miles south of Leasburg, near Highway MM where large tree branches were blown down. The tornado moved east and crossed Davis Valley Road. Numerous large tree limbs and a few large trees were blown down on a farmstead. The tornado then moved over Highway H and hit a second farmstead. Two homes sustained varying degrees of damage while two machine sheds were severely damaged. The width of the damage track at this location was 80 yards. The damage over this area was rated F1 in intensity. The tornado continued to move east along Possum Hollow Road. Five homes along the road sustained varying degrees of roof, siding and window damage. The damage width varied between 50 to 75 yards while damage intensity was rated F1. From this point the tornado traveled mainly over forested and farmland areas as it crossed Highway N over eastern Crawford County. Several large and small trees were either damaged or destroyed. The tornado lifted and dissipated approximately half a mile west of the Crawford-Washington County line, half a mile north of Highway N. No injuries or deaths were reported.

Tornado Report Description: The tornado touched down 2.5 miles southeast of Oates, in Reynolds County, near Forest Road 2329, then traveled northeast crossing Route J near the intersection with County Road 829. At this location it removed the roof of a pole barn, caused damage to the roof of a house and uprooted and snapped numerous trees. The damage path was around 200 yards wide and was rated F1 in intensity. As it traveled northeast, it snapped, uprooted and twisted numerous trees and caused minor roof damage to a manufactured home. As the tornado crossed Highway 49, two and a half miles north of the town of Black, it caused considerable damage. Numerous trees were snapped and uprooted, an unanchored manufactured home sustained heavy damage and was shifted 30 feet. Two automobiles were lifted distances ranging from 10 to 50 yards and two other homes sustained varying degrees of damage directly from the tornado and from fallen trees. A well defined convergent pattern was evident in the debris and eyewitnesses indicate the tornado had a multiple vortex structure. The damage path was around a third of a mile wide and was rated a high end F1 in this location. Further to the northeast, the tornado crossed Route MM around eight tenths of a mile north of Monterey. At this location an uninhabited home was completely destroyed with the walls pulled from numerous anchor bolts attached to the concrete foundation. Also, a wooden power pole was snapped at the base and numerous trees were snapped. The damage path was around a quarter of a mile wide and was rated a low end F2 in this location. The tornado then tracked northeast into Iron County about three tenths of a mile north of Munger. No injuries or deaths were reported.

Tornado Report Description: The tornado touched down 1.5 miles west of Leasburg and rapidly moved east over Leasburg. It caused minor roof and siding damage to several homes. The damage path width varied from 40 to 80 yards with the damage intensity rated F0. The tornado lifted and dissipated 1.5 miles east of Leasburg. No injuries or deaths were reported.
