Tornado Report Description: Damage consisted of a brick home with a metal roof which was peeled back and blown across a field. An attached brick carport was also demolished. The home received moderate damage but all four walls were intact. There was an occupant inside but he sustained no injuries. Two adjacent storage buildings also received moderate damage. An adjacent store which was vacant at the time was totally destroyed with three of the four walls having collapsed. The tornado then crossed Hwy 1...uprooting trees before collapsing a steel framed storage shed with a tin roof. The tornado also rolled an adjacent 30ft travel trailer which was unanchored. There was on occupant inside the trailer but he was not injured. The tornado continued in a north...northeast direction knocking down trees as it crossed over the Red River north of Powhatan. The track was picked back up on the east side of the river...approximately 4.5 miles west...northwest of Campti...Louisiana where the tornado uprooted a few trees with some trees snapped off a mid trunk.

Tornado Report Description: The tornado first touched down 3 miles southeast of Natchitoches or between Hwy 1 and Parish Road 514 just south of Lateral Road at approximately 0940 am cst. The storm tracked northeast and crossed the Cane River...traveling just north of the Plantation Point Subdivision. No structural damage was observed. Several trees were uprooted and or snapped as it crossed the Cane River. The storm continued to travel on a northeast heading...crossing Hwy 494 where it reached a width of 150 yards. The track was followed further northeast through a wooded area lifting just shy of the Red River in extreme East Central Natchitoches Parish or 4 miles east southeast of the city of Natchitoches at approximately 0945 am cst.
