Wind Report Description: High winds in the wake of thunderstorms in north Texas caused widespread damage at the Soldier Creek Resort and Marina. Winds estimated at 80 mph created waves as high as eight feet tall. Three boats were sunk, with another 30 damaged. The resort boat dock and structures were significantly damaged. Four of the 30 boat houses were destroyed. Several 40 foot oak trees were uprooted, and several homes also damaged. Monetary damages were estimated.

Tornado Report Description: A storm survey conducted by the National Weather Service in Fort Worth found that a tornado touched down in the town of Crowley near Sharondale Drive and Morfield Drive. Damage was mostly confined to these two streets where two houses lost significant portions of their roofs and received damage to external walls. Two houses had portions of roof decking removed and several metal storage buildings were damaged. Several additional homes suffered minor roof damage and nearby trees had large limbs broken off. This tornado was rated an EF-2 with maximum sustained winds of 110-115 MPH.

Tornado Report Description: The public reported that a tornado occurred along Tin Top Road. A large tree was uprooted and fences and a gazebo were destroyed. Some structural damage occurred to the underpinnings of a house. Railroad ties were bent over. A well house was damaged and its plumbing and tanks were pulled from the ground. A greenhouse as well as numerous outbuildings were damaged. Numerous trees were damaged as well.

This tornado was rated an EF-0 with maximum winds between 80 and 85 MPH.

Robert Barrett, Gaines County Emergency Manager, also provided images of the tornado as it crossed Highway 385 and headed eastward. This tornado did not produce any damage.
