Wind Report Description: Significant and widespread straight line wind damage occurred along a 16 mile path starting approximately 2.5 miles west of Thrift, Georgia and continuing to around 4.5 miles east of Millen, Georgia. Maximum sustained winds were estimated to be approximately 110 mph along this path. Between 50 and 60 homes were damaged with 10 to 12 of these homes completely destroyed. Damage also occurred to the Rose Mary Church and Oak Hill Church. There was one person that was injured as a result of the straight line wind damage.

Wind Report Description: A damage survey conducted by the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Peachtree City, Georgia concluded that straight line winds, with estimated gusts up to 90 mph, caused damage up to two miles south of the EF2 tornado track in far northwestern Emanuel county. This damage was noted up to two miles south of the tornado track, which entered Emanuel county about 3.5 miles west-southwest of Blundale. Widespread damage to trees was observed throughout this area, but no structural damage was observed or reported in this section of the county.

Wind Report Description: A damage survey conducted by the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Peachtree City, Georgia concluded that in addition to an EF2 tornado that tracked from just northwest of Kite east-northeast into Emanuel county just west of Blundale, extensive straight-line wind damage was observed along and up to two miles south of the tornado track. These winds were estimated to be as strong as 90 mph. Primarily minor structural damage was observed to several homes in this area, including within the city of Kite. The most significant structural damage was to a school gymnasium in Kite which sustained masonry wall and roof damage. Widespread tree damage was also observed throughout this area.

A number of trees and power lines were downed as well.

Wind Report Description: A damage survey conducted by the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Peachtree City, Georgia confirmed that straight-line winds of 60 to 70 mph affected a one to two mile wide area south of an EF0 tornado that tracked across north central and east central Washington county. The strong winds caused moderate damage to several structures just north of Sandersville and Davisboro.

Wind Report Description: A damage survey conducted by the National Weather Service in Peachtree City, Georgia and additional information received from the Laurens County Emergency Management Director concluded that extensive straight-line wind damage affected nearly all of Laurens county in addition to three separate tornadoes that tracked across the county, two in the north and one in the southeast part of the county. Numerous trees and power lines were downed throughout the county, but especially the northern sections.

Wind Report Description: The Sumter County 911 Center reported that several trees were down across the county. Radar supports that two rounds of thunderstorms resulted in downed trees, one in the far northern part of the county between 630 and 645 am EDT in the Andersonville area, while another round of thunderstorms entered the northwest part of the county near Friendship and tracked southeast into the southeast part of the county near Cobb. The majority of the wind damage likely occurred with this later round of thunderstorms.

Wind Report Description: A damage survey conducted by the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Peachtree City, Georgia concluded that straight-line winds of 60 to 70 mph caused damage to many trees and power lines south of an EF0 to EF1 tornado that tracked from the Twiggs/Wilkinson county line, about 4 1/3 miles southeast of Myricks Mill to eight miles southeast of Toomsboro. The straight-line wind damage was generally found to be up to three miles south of the tornado track.

Wind Report Description: The Morgan County 911 Center reported that several trees and power lines were down across the southern portion of the county.

Wind Report Description: A damage survey conducted by the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Peachtree City, Georgia confirmed that straight-line winds of estimated at 60 to 70 mph caused damage to several trees and power lines up to three miles south of the track of an EF1 tornado that tracked from near Fitzpatrick to 4 1/3 miles southeast of Myricks Mill.

Wind Report Description: The Macon County 911 Center reported that several trees were down along Georgia Highways 224 and 49 and in the city of Montezuma. One tree was also down in Oglethorpe.

Wind Report Description: Public reported large branches down in Pelion.

Wind Report Description: The Baldwin County 911 Center reported that at least a dozen trees and several power lines were down scattered about the county.

Wind Report Description: The public reported that a few trees were blown down in a trailer park causing minor damage.

Wind Report Description: The Peach County 911 Center reported that numerous trees were down across many area of the county. Widespread power outages were observed.

Wind Report Description: The Schley County 911 Center reported that several trees were down within the county, especially in Ellaville.

Wind Report Description: The Monroe County 911 Center reported that hundreds of trees were down, especially in the southern part of the county. Three homes sustained minor to moderate damage as a result of the downed trees. Many parts of the county were left without power and some roads were temporarily blocked from downed trees, especially in the vicinity of Georgia Highway 74 and Georgia Highway 42.

Wind Report Description: A damage survey conducted by the National Weather Service in Peachtree City, Georgia concluded that in addition to the EF2 tornado damage from Lizella, through Macon, and east to the Twiggs county line near Dry Branch, extensive straight-line wind damage was also observed south of the tornado path across central and southern Bibb county. The damage consisted mainly of widespread downed trees and power lines with some minor structural damage. At least one outbuilding was destroyed.

Wind Report Description: The Crawford County 911 Center reported that many trees and power lines were down across the county. Radar data supported that the majority of the damage would have occurred north of a line from Musella in the northwest part of the county to Friendship in the eastern central section of the county.

Wind Report Description: Several trees were reported down at the corner of Secessionville Road and Camp Road by the broadcast media.

Wind Report Description: Part of a tree came through the roof of a home.

Wind Report Description: The Upson County Emergency Management Director reported that several trees were blown down across the north central and northeast part of Upson county, especially in The Rock area and on the east side of Thomaston along Georgia Highway 74 toward Yatesville. Four trees were down within the city of Thomaston blocking some city streets for several hours. A couple of other roads in the northeast part of the county were also blocked for several hours from downed trees. Up to 1500 residents of the county were without power until afternoon. Amateur radio operators estimated wind gusts to 60 mph in The Rock area.

Wind Report Description: DOT reported several trees down on Goshen Church road.

Wind Report Description: A damage survey conducted by the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Peachtree City, Georgia confirmed that straight-line thunderstorm wind damage continued to track from Douglas into south Fulton county. The most significant damage was observed approximately four miles north of Fairburn, where several downed trees caused damage to several structures along South Fulton Parkway. The Fulton County Emergency Management Director reported that a home was heavily damaged in the 4800 block of Trigger Lane in the north part of Fairburn. The survey confirmed that all of this damage was caused by straight-line winds and not a tornado.

Wind Report Description: A public report was received of trees down and power outages at 165 High Park Road in Ravenel, South Carolina.

Wind Report Description: A damage survey conducted by the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Peachtree City confirmed that the path of widespread straight-line wind damage that began in Carroll county continued into Douglas county. The wind damage path continued generally along and south of Georgia Highway 166 in the southern part of the county, from west of Fairplay to the Fulton county line south of Chapel Hill. The most extensive damage was observed in the Fairplay area. Numerous trees and power lines were blown down in Fairplay. A total of 121 homes sustained damage in the Fairplay, Chapel Hill, and southern Douglasville areas, including homes on Hannah Road, Tyree Road, South Post Road, Saint Andrews Country Club, East Carroll Road, Shell Road, and Capps Ferry Road. The damage survey concluded all of the wind damage was from strong straight line winds of at least 70 mph and that there was no tornado touch down in Douglas county from this event.

Wind Report Description: A survey conducted by the National Weather Service in Peachtree City, Georgia confirmed that thunderstorms tracked across central Carroll county from near the Alabama border, west of Bowden, to the Douglas county line, southeast of Hulett, leaving a 25-mile long and 3-mile wide path of extensive straight-line wind damage. Widespread tree and roof damage was noted along the path of straight-line winds, much of which occurred along and up to three miles south of Georgia Highway 166 from west of Carrollton, near Bowden, to western Douglas county, near Fairplay. Dozens upon dozens of trees and many power lines were downed along the path. A number of homes along this path also sustained minor roof damage. Within this extensive path of straight-line wind damage, two brief EF2 spinup tornadoes were documented, one in the Jonesville community and the other about seven miles east of Carrollton.

Wind Report Description: The Meriwether County Emergency Management Director reported that one tree was blown down on a home in Manchester and one tree was down on an apartment in Warm Springs.

Wind Report Description: Power lines were blown down on AL-77, north of Talladega.

Wind Report Description: Several trees were blown down on US-78, near WHFK Radio Station in Pell City.

Wind Report Description: Several trees and a power line were blown down.

Wind Report Description: The roof was blown off a 10 unit rental storage building in Edinburg. A few trees were also blown down.

Wind Report Description: Downed trees blocked both lanes of traffic on AL-160, southwest of Hayden.

Tornado Report Description: Public reported a brief tornado touchdown just north of Beaufort. Rated as an EF0 with no damage.

Tornado Report Description: Waterspout moved onshore across Morehead City Country Club and tracked southeast for less than one half mile before dissipating. Several trees were blown down, an outbuilding also had its roof blown off. The tornado was rated as an EF0.

Tornado Report Description: Tornado touched down west of Brandywine Bay subdivision and tracked east-northeast near Walmart shopping center before lifting northwest of Morehead City. Sporadic damage along path with trees downed and some minor structural damage to buildings. Tornado was rated as an EF1.

Tornado Report Description: Brief tornado touchdown reported by several people south of Belgrade. No damage was reported and was rated as an EF0.

Tornado Report Description: A tornado touched down near Belgrade in Onslow County and crossed into Jones county about 1 mile to the southeast of Belgrade. The tornado was rated as an EF2 and had a total path length of 5 miles. The tornado was about 100 yards wide. Most of the structural damage occurred in Onslow county...however numerous trees were sheared off in Jones county and a porch was destroyed at one residence.

Tornado Report Description: Tornado touched down near Belgrade and moved east into southern Jones county about 1 mile southeast of Belgrade. The tornado had a path length of around 5 miles and was rated as an EF2. Several homes received moderate to severe damage with 6 minor injuries reported. Several outbuildings were destroyed and numerous trees were sheared off.

Tornado Report Description: Tornado first touched down about two miles north-northwest of Lewiston Woodville. The tornado path then continued east-northeast across the county producing EF0 to EF2 damage. The tornado path ended as EF0 damage about one mile south of Powellsville. Confirmed EF1 tornado damage about two miles north-northwest of Lewiston Woodville consisted of numerous trees downed on Route 308, and several trailer and brick homes damaged with some mobile homes destroyed near Piney Woods Road. Confirmed EF2 tornado damage about three miles north-northeast of Lewiston Woodville and five miles southwest of Connaritsa consisted of several mobile homes destroyed and a church demolished on Connaritsa Road. Confirmed EF1 tornado damage occurred again about four miles southwest of Powellsville. The damage was along Hexlena Road, with numerous trees downed or snapped off and extensive damage to a few mobile homes. The tornado damage ended about one mile south of Powellsville. Confirmed EF0 tornado damage occurred along Sally Freeman Road, where a porch attached to a mobile home, was demolished. Also, several trees were snapped off.

Tornado Report Description: A tornado touched down briefly near the intersection of highway 49 and highway 601.

Tornado Report Description: A confirmed EF-2 Tornado initially touched down along Bears Bluff Road on Wadmalaw Island, where minor damage was observed. The damage at the initial touchdown location was confined to several trees getting sheared off near the base or twisted to the ground. ||The Tornado then traveled east and crossed the Maybank Highway on Wadmalaw Island where major damage was observed. The majority of the damage occurred on the 4800 block of Maybank Highway, where nearly all the trees in the path of the Tornado were twisted to the ground or sheared off near the base. Numerous homes were damaged as the Tornado ripped through, with many sustaining roof and shingle damage. In fact, two homes had a section of there roofs detached and hurled approximately 50 to 100 feet away from the residences. A detached garage also sustained damage, when the suction from the Tornado caused the garage door to get buckled inward into the garage itself, and portions of the tin roof was ripped away and displaced 50 to 75 feet from the garage. A cinder block wall on another home sustained severe damage when a large section of cinder blocks was torn from the wall and hurled into the home. Additionally, a chain link fence around the residence was ripped off and displaced 20 to 30 feet from the supporting poles which held the fence in place. Another home sustained severe damage, as the front porch of the residence was detached and tossed 100 to 150 feet. The same home had the roof lifted 2 to 3 inches from the supporting walls, and a large window curtain was actually pulled upward and into the attic as the Tornado moved through. Quite a bit of damage was also observed in the Long Creek Plantation subdivision, where significant tree damage was observed along with several homes sustaining some minor roof damage.||The Tornado then moved onto Johns Island and crossed Bohicket Road. Moderate damage was observed as it moved through this area of Johns Island. The majority of the damage was confined to trees being sheared off near the base or twisted to the ground. Several homes did sustain some minor roof damage as shingles were lifted and displaced from the residences. ||Minor damage was observed on River Road when the Tornado weakened before lifting just south of the Charleston Executive Airport. The damage along River Road was confined primarily to several downed trees. A tin roof of a shed sustained minor damage as well, as it lifted slightly but remained intact.||The Maximum sustained winds were estimated to be 120 mph with this Tornado. The total path length was 12 miles, with a path width of 1 mile when it crossed Maybank Highway and six tenths of a mile when it crossed Bohicket Road. Although significant damage occurred, no injuries were reported.

Tornado Report Description: A tornado moved across a small marsh island, just north of Bridge Road, before moving offshore as a waterspout. The public reported seeing the rotation extend to the surface as it passed across the uninhabitated island. There was reportedly no discernible damage. The tornado was rated an EF0. The path length was estimated at 0.2 miles and the maximum path width was estimated at 10 yards.

Tornado Report Description: A tornado touched down briefly in an open field in the Cat Square area.

Tornado Report Description: A brief tornado touched down just east of South Mountains State Park. Damage was limited to a few downed trees and large limbs.

Tornado Report Description: Doppler weather radar indicated a fast moving storm with super cell characteristics which produced the tornado. A National Weather Service storm survey confirmed EF1 tornado damage along a 2 mile long patch in and near the Sea Palms resort area on Saint Simons Island. The path width was 1/10 to 1/8 of a mile. Many trees were snapped or uprooted along the path which caused damage to some buildings. Winds were estimated to be at 80 to 100 mph. Press reports indicate the tornado began near Old Bell Point Road and Honey Bee Lane on the mainland and that it crossed the Intra-coastal Waterway to Saint Simons Island and photographic evidence supports that analysis.

Tornado Report Description: A tornado touched down in a field just west of State Route 142 and south of Interstate 70 a few miles northeast of West Jefferson in eastern Madison County. Several trees were damaged and at least one was ripped out of the ground and tossed across State Route 142. The path length extended for about 200 yards. The tornado touched back down about 1.5 miles to the northeast in western Franklin County near a residence along Amity Road just north of Interstate 70. Additional tree damage occurred in this location. This tornado was rated EF-0 with maximum wind speeds of 75 mph.

Tornado Report Description: A tornado touched down in a field just west of State Route 142 and south of Interstate 70 a few miles northeast of West Jefferson in eastern Madison County. Several trees were damaged and at least one was ripped out of the ground and tossed across State Route 142. The path length extended for about 200 yards. The tornado touched back down about 1.5 miles to the northeast in western Franklin County near a residence along Amity Road just north of Interstate 70. Additional tree damage occurred in this location. This tornado was rated EF-0 with maximum wind speeds of 75 mph.

Tornado Report Description: An EF-1 tornado with wind speeds of around 95 mph briefly touched down one mile southeast of Wooton. Large trees were either snapped off or blown over. One tree fell onto a power line.

Tornado Report Description: A tornado briefly touched down in the Goose Creek and Grahn Fork vicinity, east of Olive Hill. Winds were estimated near 100 mph. Along the path, numerous trees were snapped off. Many of these trees were evergreen. A roof was blown off a manufactured home along Goose Creek. About a half dozen other homes had roof damage. Outbuildings and a car port were also damaged. Some telephone poles were snapped off.

Tornado Report Description: A survey team from the National Weather Service Office in Charleston, South Carolina along with other damage survey experts from across the country determined that the Tornado that struck McIntosh county Georgia on Sunday morning May 11, was a violent EF-4. The Tornado beginning and end times are based on radar data combined with credible ground truth reports. ||The Tornado formed at 952 am, approximately 3 miles northwest of Darien, Georgia and tracked east about 11 miles before dissipating at 1007 am as a water spout in Doboy Sound. ||The Tornado formed in a wooded area about a half mile west of Route 251 where numerous trees were snapped off. The Tornado strengthened rapidly as it approached and moved across Route 251.||The Tornado struck a Marine Sales and Services Business located on the east side of Route 251. The bolts for all but one of the anchored metal support beams for the metal building were snapped off just above the concrete slab. With the exception of the one metal support beam that was bent to the ground, the slab was wiped clean. Approximately 50 boats were tossed around and destroyed, with one 18 foot 4000 pound boast carried about 650 yards into some trees. A 32 foot 8000 pound boat was carried about 130 yards onto the top of the Gateway Behavioral Services Building. A vehicle that was parked in the parking lot was carried in the air 150 yards. One 125 horsepower boat motor weighing 300 to 350 pounds was carried 250 yards and deposited into the roof of a building. In addition, one of the boats had yet to be accounted for at the time the survey was conducted. Several other vehicles near the business were rolled or tossed and severely damaged or destroyed. No one was in the building at the time the Tornado struck and damage to the building and all the boats were estimated to be 5 million dollars.||Approximately 100 yards to the south-southeast of the Marine Sales and Services Building, the McIntosh Emergency Medical Services Building was destroyed by the Tornado with damage to three ambulances and one fire truck. Many of the metal support beams from this facility were torn from the concrete slab or snapped off. This building was rated for 120 mph winds. No one was in this building at the time of the Tornado because they were out on a non weather related call.||The Gateway Behavioral Health and Services Building was totally destroyed. This metal framed building with brick exterior was located about 100 yards east-northeast of the McIntosh Emergency Medical Services Building and 130 yards east-southeast of the Marine Sales and Services Building. The roof of the Gateway Building collapsed along with many of the outer brick walls. Many of the large load bearing metal beams were bent or knocked down. Portions of the metal roof were carried a mile away onto Interstate 95. Some of the roofing material was found 11 miles away on Sapelo Island. Of the 12 people that were in the building when the Tornado hit, 9 were injured sustaining broken bones and or lacerations. Six vehicles around this building were damaged or destroyed and a metal light pole and several trees were snapped off in this area. ||Two other businesses in this area suffered damage including damage to satellite dishes and two overturned tractor trailers. Damage to the Marine Sales and Services Business and the Gateway Behavioral Health and Services Building indicated that EF-4 damage had occurred with winds estimated to be between 170 and 180 mph. ||After leaving this area the Tornado traveled east and weakened. The Tornado reached its maximum width of 700 yards as it crossed Interstate 95, and then decreased in size and was mainly from 200 to 500 yards wide during the remainder of the path. The Tornado damaged or destroyed four billboards along Interstate 95, produced mainly minor roof damage to several dozen homes mainly in the Ridgeville area, snapped off or uprooted thousands of trees, some of them falling on homes or vehicles, and damaged or destroyed numerous outbuildings. ||A resident of Ridgeville, Georgia whose home suffered minor damage in the Tornado, took shelter in a closet after seeing a National Weather Service Severe Weather Statement on the television mentioning that Ridgeville was in the path of the Tornado. ||The Tornado also damaged the Blue-N-Hall Marina and Fishing Dock. In this area, a large boat hoist along with 18 boats and several boat trailers were damaged or destroyed. Several power poles were also snapped off and several vehicles were damaged. Numerous trees were also snapped off on Hird Island. The Tornado likely dissipated over Doboy Sound as a waterspout. Besides portions of the Gateway roof, lots of other debris including signs were deposited on Sapelo Island.

Tornado Report Description: An EF-1 tornado touched down 1 mile west of the Cumberland Falls State Park on Highway 90 and continued into Whitley County and across the park. Wind speeds with this tornado were estimated at 105 mph. Significant damage was done to the park supervisor's residence. Extensive numbers of large trees were blown across roads which made access to parts of the park impossible until they were cleared away. Numerous trees were snapped or uprooted with some of the trees falling on cars and powerlines.

Tornado Report Description: A trained weather spotter reported a weak rope Tornado near Almeda, South Carolina. The Tornado was seen in contact with the ground for approximately 2 minutes. No damage resulted from the weak Tornado.

Tornado Report Description: Large trees, some rotten and some healthy, were broken off well above the ground due to a tornado that moved through the area. A large trailer was carried away from a driveway into a field. A house the roof sustained damage. Shingles were ripped off multiple sides of the house. The roof was also leaking due to the roof damage. Damage was sustained to lawn equipment and a vehicle. Based on damage indicators, wind speeds were estimated around eighty miles per hour.

Tornado Report Description: A confirmed EF-1 Tornado touched down just to the east of Nevils, Georgia along Nesmith Proctor Road where a cluster of trees were snapped and blown down. The Tornado then moved rapidly east and crossed Interstate 16 near mile marker 125 where extensive tree damage occurred. The Tornado then moved across Highway 67 near Old Rocker Road where it partially destroyed the roof of a mobile home and damaged nearby trees. Finally the Tornado crossed Old Happy Road and moved through the Old Happy Farm where it completely destroyed a mobile home, several irrigation systems and a large storage shed before dissipating. ||The total path length was approximately 2.25 miles and the maximum sustained winds were estimated between 105 and 110 mph. Although considerable damage occurred with the Tornado, there were no injuries.

Tornado Report Description: A confirmed EF-3 Tornado crossed into extreme northwestern Tattnall county from Toombs county, then continued east-southeastward into the community of Cobbtown, Georgia before turning east and dissipating. The first indications of significant damage, consistent with an EF-1 Tornado, occurred along Representative Kennedy Road where a mobile home was partially destroyed. A well defined path of debris was noted trailing southeast of this area across open farm fields. Several homes were also severely damaged with roofs blown off along Henry Moxley Road about 1 mile southeast of Representative Kennedy Road.||The Tornado continued to strengthen as it turned east toward Cobbtown, Georgia and peaked in intensity as it tracked near the intersection of Georgia State Highways 121 and 57. Here the Tornado completely leveled a brick convenience store and caused considerable damage to trees and nearby structures. Two people working in the store at the time of the Tornado were injured but not killed. The damage pattern in this area was consistent with an EF-3 Tornado with winds estimated between 140 and 150 mph. Also in this same general area, but south of the Tornado track there was evidence of a strong downburst. The winds were estimated to be around 100 mph with the downburst, likely associated with the rear flank downdraft of the Supercell Thunderstorm.||The Tornado continued to move east across open farm fields where extensive tree damage and minor structural damage consistent with an EF-1 and EF-0 Tornado was noted. The Tornado dissipated about 1.5 miles east of Cobbtown, however occasional bouts of non-tornadic straight line winds were observed across portions of northeast Tattnall County and northern Evans County near Undine, Georgia. ||Maximum sustained winds were estimated between 140 and 150 mph with a maximum width of approximately 200 yards. Considerable damage was reported along the path of the Tornado, and although no one was killed, 2 people were injured.

Tornado Report Description: A damage survey conducted by the National Weather Service in Peachtree City, Georgia confirmed that yet another tornado touched down in Toombs county. This tornado tracked across far northeast Toombs county. This tornado was spawned by the same thunderstorm that produced both the EF3 tornado in Treutlen county and the EF1 tornado in northwest tornado. This tornado touched down in far northeast Toombs county, approximately seven miles northeast of Lyons, moved north-northeast toward the intersection of the Toombs, Emanuel, Candler, and Tatnall county borders, then curved to the east and moved into Tatnall county. As the tornado moved into Tatnall county, it strengthened to an EF3 causing considerable damage in the Cobbtown area of northern Tatnall county. The entire track of the tornado was approximately seven miles long, of which roughly 2.8 miles fell within Toombs. The maximum path width was 100 yards. Numerous trees were either snapped in half or uprooted along the path of the tornado in northeast Toombs county. No structural damage was reported or observed as the tornado moved through this very rural area of northeast Toombs county.

Tornado Report Description: A Tornado touched down near the community of Emmalane, Georgia around 733 AM EDT southwest of the intersection of US-25 and Old Savannah Road. The Tornado continued northeast 1.7 miles and had a maximum width of 1200 yards. The observed damage indicated that an EF-1 Tornado had occurred. The maximum sustained winds with the Tornado were estimated at 95 mph. Damage occurred to a mobile home where the roof was uplifted and the structure shifted from its foundation. There was also significant damage to nearby sheds and trees.

Tornado Report Description: A damage survey conducted by the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Peachtree City, Georgia confirmed that an EF2 tornado touched down in extreme northwest Toombs county, approxmiately three miles south-southwest of Normantown. This tornado was spawned by the same thunderstorm that less than 10 minutes prior had spanwed an EF3 tornado, the strongest tornado of this event, just south of Soperton in Treutlen county, which tracked into extreme northeast Montgomery county. This first tornado in Toombs county was only on the ground for about one mile, but caused considerable damage. Four mobile homes were completely destroyed, resulting in three minor injuries and the displacement of seven families from their homes. A church also sustained heavy damage. Two brick homes were damaged as well as several barns, sheds, and storage buildings. In addition a tractor-trailer rig was overturned. Some 200 to 300 pine trees were also blown down in the area. The tornado path width was determined to be 150 yards.

Tornado Report Description: NWS Storm Survey from Atlanta office tracked an EF0 tornado across Jefferson county into Burke County. Burke Emergency Manager also confirmed trees and powerlines down along southeast of Vidette on Wyatt Place road between highways 24 and 305.

Tornado Report Description: A damage survey conducted by the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Peachtree City, Georgia confirmed that the EF3 tornado, that initially touched down approximately three miles south-southeast of Soperton, continued on an east-southeastward track approximately seven miles into extreme northeast Montgomery county. The tornado likely weakened to less than EF3 intensity as it entered Montgomery county. A number of outbuildings and sheds were destroyed along the path of the tornado in northeast Montgomery county. A number of trees and power lines were also downed. However, no damage to any homes was observed or reported in Montgomery county.

Tornado Report Description: A damage survey conducted by the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Peachtree City, Georgia confirmed that an EF3 tornado, the strongest tornado of the 15 separate tornadoes to affect north and central Georgia this Mother's Day, touched down approximately three miles south-southeast of Soperton, then tracked east-southeast across southern Treutlen county and into extreme northeastern Montgomery county. The second floor of a two-story home was completely removed by the tornado. Numerous sheds and outbuildings were destroyed along the path of the tornado. Trees and power lines were also down along the path of the tornado.

Tornado Report Description: A damage survey conducted by the National Weather Service in Peachtree City, Georgia confirmed that the second tornado, an EF2, that touched down in far eastern Johnson county, just northwest of Kite, continued on an east-northeastward track into far northwestern Emanuel county, lifting approximately one mile west of Blundale, just north of Cordie Road. Maximum winds within the tornado were estimated to be 130 mph with a maximum path width up to 1/2 mile as the tornado first entered Emanuel county. Approximately 28 homes in Emanuel county sustained damage from the tornado, two of which were destroyed, 13 of which suffered major damage, and 10 had minor damage.

Tornado Report Description: A damage survey conducted by the National Weather Service in Peachtree City, Georgia confirmed that yet another tornado had touched down within Johnson county. This tornado was an EF2 and touched down in far eastern Johnson county, about one mile northwest of Kite and continued on an east-northeastward track into Emanuel county, crossing into Emanuel county just west of the city of Blundale. Maximum winds within the tornado were estimated to be 130 mph and the maximum path width was determined to be up to 1/2 mile wide. As the tornado touched down northwest of Kite, a mobile home was rolled and several other homes and vehicles were damaged along U.S. Highway 221 north of Kite. The most significant damage occurred about three miles north of Kite, along Minton Chapel Road, where a mobile home was completely destroyed and the debris thrown up to 50 feet away. Three injuries were reported as a result of the destruction of this mobile home. An additional indirect injury occurred later when a tree fell on an individual during debris clean up. A well constructed metal building in the same general area sustained substantial wall, frame, and column anchor failures. A number of trees and several power lines were downed along the path of the tornado as well.

Tornado Report Description: A damage survey conducted by the National Weather Service in Peachtree City, Georgia confirmed that yet a third tornado had touched down in Laurens county. This tornado was rated an EF1 tornado and touched down in southeast Laurens county, approximately one mile north of Lowrey. The tornado was short-lived and only remained on the ground for about 0.5 mile as it tracked east-southeast. However, this circulation reformed and strengthened into an EF3 tornado as it tracked into southern Truetlen county 10 minutes later. One mobile home was destroyed and numerous trees were snapped off or uprooted along the short path of the tornado. The maximum path width was estimated to be 200 yards wide.

Tornado Report Description: A damage survey conducted by the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Peachtree City, Georgia confirmed that the EF0 tornado that originally touched down in north central Washington county, just northeast of Sandersville, continued on a long 33 mile track across eastern Washington, central Jefferson, and into far western Burke county before lifting one mile south of Vidette. The tornado entered Jefferson county approximately 10 miles west-northwest of Louisville and skirted across the northern part of Louisville, then continued eastward, exiting the county about seven miles east-northeast of Louisville. A little over 17 miles of the tornado path occurred within Jefferson county. The maximum path width of the tornado was estimated to be 440 yards or around 1/2 mile. Homes on the northern side of Louisville sustained considerable damage from the tornado, including both mobile homes and single/multiple-family homes. All together, 55 mobile homes were affected, two of which were destroyed and 50 had major damage. Approximately 185 single-family homes suffered damage. Of these, 70 were destroyed and 115 sustained major damage. In addition 13 businesses, six government facilities, and two non-profit organization building structures were damaged. Of the six government facilities, two of them were county schools. Hunderds of trees and power lines were also downed along the path of the tornado. At least 5600 residents of the area were left without power following the storm.

Tornado Report Description: A damage survey conducted by the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Peachtree City, Georgia confirmed that the EF1 tornado, that initially touched down in extreme northern Laurens just west-southwest of Tuckers Crossroads, continued on an eastward track into Johnson county, lifting a little less than one mile northeast of Wrightsville. Dozen of mobile and site-built homes in Wrightsville sustained minor to moderate damage as a result of this tornado, some of which were destroyed. Five injuries were reported from mobile homes destroyed with this tornado. An additional indirect injury resulted when a tree fell on an individual during debris clean up. In addition, numerous trees and power lines were downed along the path of the tornado through western Johnson county. The overall tornado path length was 10 miles, of which nearly nine occurred within Johnson county. The maximum path width was estimated to be up to 1/3 mile wide.||Within Johnson county, 227 homes were damaged, 22 of which were destroyed and 67 of which sustained major damage. Six public buildings also sustained minor to moderate damage. In addition, a total of five injuries were reported as a result of this tornado, four of which occurred as a result of damaged or destroyed mobile homes. The Georgia Forestry Commission reported extensive loss to timber within Johnson county when the tornado destroyed several hundred pine trees.

Tornado Report Description: A damage survey conducted by the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Peachtree City, Georgia, confirmed that an EF0 tornado touched down in north central Washington county, about four miles northeast of Sandersville, near the intersection of Georgia Highway 15 and Mayview Road. The tornado remained an EF0 as it tracked almost due eastward on a 33 mile long track through central Jefferson county and into far western Burke county before lifting. Within Washington county, the path length was approximately 11 miles with a maximum path width of 440 yards or 1/4 mile. Many structures sustained minor damage along the path of the tornado. A number of trees and several power lines were also blown down.

Tornado Report Description: A damage survey conducted by the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Peachtree City, Georgia confirmed that yet another tornado touched down and skirted across the far northern part of Laurens county. This tornado was caused by a separate circulation, although within the same thunderstorm complex, that spawned the EF2 tornado slightly further southwest in north central Laurens county that resulted in two deaths and two injuries. This tornado touched down as an EF1 tornado in extreme northern Laurens county, approximately one mile west of Tuckers Crossroads. Near Tuckers Crossroads, one mobile home was destroyed and a manufactured home was pushed off its foundation. A truck was also moved 30 feet from its original location. The tornado continued on its eastward track into Johnson county, inflicting more damage before finally lifting just northeast of Wrightsville. Many trees were blown down along the path of the tornado. The entire path length of this tornado was 10 miles, but only 1 2/3 mile was within Laurens county. The maximum path width was estimated to be 1/3 mile.

Tornado Report Description: A damage survey conducted by the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Peachtree City, Georgia confirmed that an EF2 tornado touched down in far northern Laurens county, just south of the Wilkinson county line. The tornado initially touched down as an EF0 tornado near the intersection of Old Macon Road and Oscar Wynn Road. The tornado quickly intensified to an EF2 tornado as it tracked almost due eastward and crossed U.S. Highway 441 at the 2700 block, about seven miles northwest of Dublin, or near the intersection of U.S. Highway 441 and Evergreen Road. Here, a double-wide mobile home was destroyed and the occupants, a man and woman in their early 50s were both killed. Their two grandchildren sustained non-life threatening injuries. Another home along Evergreen Road was also destroyed as the EF2 tornado continued on its eastward track. The tornado continued eastward and weakened back to an EF0 as it crossed the Oconee River. The tornado then once again strengthened to an EF2 as it crossed Buckeye Road in the 2100 block, approximaltely four miles north-northeast of East Dublin. EF2 tornado damage was noted to a home at 2185 Buckeye Road and EF1 tornado damage to another home at 1533 Buckeye Road. In between the destruction to the homes on Evergreen Road and those on Buckeye Road, sporadic tree and power line damage was observed, mostly consistent with an EF0 intensity rating. The tornado path length was about 15 miles. A maximum path width of 250 yards was observed at the tornado crossed U.S. Highway 441 at Evergreen Road.||All together this tornado resulted in the destruction of two mobile homes, major damage to six other site built homes, some shifted off their foundations, one home with a missing roof, and many other homes with minor roof or siding damage. Numerous sheds and outbuildings were also destroyed. Several dozen trees were either uprooted or snapped off along the path of the tornado, along with several power lines.

Tornado Report Description: A damage survey conducted by the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Peachtree City confirmed that the EF0 to EF1 tornado that first touched down near Fitzpatrick in central Twiggs county continued eastward across eastern Twiggs county and into Wilkinson county. The tornado entered Wilkinson county about 4 1/3 miles southeast of Myricks Mill and continued on an almost due eastward track to the far southeastern part of the county, lifting about eight miles southeast of Toombsboro. The tornado entered the county with an EF0 strength rating. As the tornado continued eastward it began to parallel Georgia Highway 96 where it crosses U.S. Highway 441, about five miles south of Irwinton. A mobile home was damaged on Beaver Dam Road near this point as the the tornado briefly strengthed to an EF1. Little to no other structural damage was observed, but numerous trees and power lines were down along the path of the tornado. Maximum winds within the tornado were estimated at 90 mph with a maximum path width of 100 yards.

Tornado Report Description: A damage survey conducted by the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Peachtree City, Georgia confirmed that the same thunderstorm that earlier spawned the destructive EF2 tornado that tracked across Bibb county into western Twiggs county, shortly thereafter spawned yet another EF0 to EF1 tornado across central and east central Twiggs county. The tornado, which initially touched down as an EF0 tornado just east-southeast of Fitzpatrick, briefly strengthened to an EF1 tornado as it moved east, then sporadically fluctuated between EF1 and EF0 intensity as it continued on an almost due eastward track into Wilkinson county, crossing into Wilkinson county about 4 1/3 miles southeast of Myricks Mill. The tornado touched down near the intersection of U.S. Highway 80 and Myricks Mill Road where the roof of a church was destroyed. Four other churches sustained minor damage, along with 30 homes, mostly from downed trees. Five vehicles were damaged or destroyed. Tons of trees were either uprooted or twisted throughout the area, leaving several roads blocked and closed, including parts of Interstate 16. A number of power lines were also knocked down. Maximum sustained winds of the tornado within Twiggs county were estimated to be 90 mph, with a maximum path width of 100 yards. While the overall path length of this tornado was 25 miles, just a little over five miles of the path occurred within Twiggs county.

Tornado Report Description: A damage survey conducted by the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Peachtree City, Georgia confirmed that the EF2 tornado, which initially touched down near Lizella in western Bibb county and tracked through the city of Macon, crossed into Twiggs county as a weaker EF0 tornado near the city of Dry Branch. Only tree and power line damage was observed within this portion of the track of the tornado. The maximum path width of this tornado was estimated to be 100 yards.

Tornado Report Description: NWS Storm Survey confirmed trees down along JB Swartze, Counter and other secondary roads with no structural damage.

Tornado Report Description: A damage survey conducted by the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Peachtree City, Georgia confirmed that an EF2 tornado touched down near Lizella and continued across Bibb county into extreme western Twiggs county near Dry Branch producing sporadic, but significant damage as it varied in intensity from EF0 to EF2. The tornado tracked from just east-northeast of Lizella across the south shores of Lake Tobesofkee, then across the city of Macon, producing widespread significant damage, and then eastward to the Twiggs county line. By far the most significant damage occurred within the city of Macon, especially along Eisenhower Parkway and Pio Nono Avenue where two businesses were completely destroyed and several others were heavily damaged. Macon State College was also hit by the tornado, destroying the gymnasium and causing significant damage to a number of other buildings on the campus. In addition, more than 50 percent of the trees on the campus either snapped in half or uprooted. Maximum wind speeds within the tornado were estimated at 130 mph, which occurred near the intersection of Eisenhower Parkway and Pio Nono Avenue. Nearly all of the 18 mile long path of the tornado fell within Bibb county. Less than one mile of the tornado occurred within Twiggs county. The maximum path width of the tornado was estimated to be 100 yards, mainly as it traveled through the Macon State College area.||A summary of damages from Bibb county shows that 1,479 homes suffered at least some damage as a result of the storms. Ninety-three of these homes were destroyed, 275 suffered major damage, and 569 sustained minor damage.

Tornado Report Description: A damage survey conducted by the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Peachtree City, Georgia confirmed that the tornado, which began as an EF2 in northeast Clayton county and continued across northern Henry and southern Rockdale counties, continued into extreme western Newton county. The tornado weakened to an EF0 as it entered Henry county and continued as an EF0 across Henry, Rockdale and Newton counties. The tornado lifted near or just east of Georgia Highway 20 from 2.5 to 3.0 miles north of Oak Hill. Damage was confined to several trees and power lines in this area. No structural damage was reported. The tornado path was less than one mile within Newton county with a maximum path width of 100 yards.

Tornado Report Description: A survey conducted by the National Weather Service in Peachtree City, Georgia confirmed that the EF2 tornado, which originally touched down in northeast Clayton county and then tracked across northern Henry county, continued into southern Rockdale county and then into western Newton county before finally lifting. The tornado entered Rockdale county just north of Union Springs and tracked east-southeast toward the city of Magnet on the Newton county line. The tornado weakened to an EF0 as it entered Henry county and continued as an EF0 across Rockdale and Newton. Damage was confined to an intermittent tree and power line damage along the tornado track, much of which occurred along or near Georgia Highway 212 and Oglesby Bridge Road where from 10 to 20 trees were down. No structural damage was reported from this tornado within Rockdale county.

Tornado Report Description: NWS storm survey confirmed trees down from an EF0 on Old Shoals, Abney and other secondary roads. There were no structures along the path.

Tornado Report Description: A storm survey conducted by the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Peachtree City, Georgia confirmed that the EF2 tornado, that first touched down in northeast Clayton county, northeast of Morrow, continued into Henry county, but weakened to an EF0. The tornado entered Henry county approximately four miles north of Stockbridge and continued on an east to east-southeastward track across northern Henry county and then into southern Rockdale county. The tornado entered Rockdale county approximately three miles north of Whitehouse or about four miles south-southeast of Panola Mountain State Park. Damage was confined to an intermittent path of tree and power line damage. No structural damage was reported within Henry county from this tornado.

Tornado Report Description: A survey conducted by the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Peachtree City, Georgia confirmed that an EF2 tornado with maximum winds of 130 mph touched down in far northeast Clayton county, approximately four miles northeast of Morrow, and tracked on the ground for nearly 19 miles from northeast Clayton into northern Henry, southern Rockdale, and into western Newton county before finally lifting. Within Clayton county the tornado path was about 2.75 miles long with a maximum path width of 100 yards. Shortly after touchdown, the tornado caused extensive and significant damage within a 2.5 square mile area of the Ellenwood community. There were 185 private dwellings damaged, 53 of which were destroyed or left uninhabitable. At least 500 residents were displaced from their homes. Numerous trees and power lines were also down in the area. By far, the worst damage caused by this tornado occurred within Clayton county as the tornado weakened as it tracked further east into Henry, Rockdale, and Newton county. Despite the extensive damage, no injuries were reported.

Tornado Report Description: NWS storm survey confirmed trees down from an EF0 on Mt. Calvary, Westin Way, and other secondary roads with no structural damage.

Tornado Report Description: A survey conducted by the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Peachtree City, Georgia confirmed that yet a second brief spinup tornado, spawned by the same parent thunderstorm, touched down in Carroll county. This tornado affected eastern Carroll county, touching down near the Diamond Court Subdivision off Cross Plains-Hulett Road, about three miles south of Hulett. Again, this tornado was embedded within a much larger and extensive area of straight-line wind damage that tracked across much of central Carroll county from near Bowden to the Douglas county line, southeast of Hulett. One home was completely destroyed by this second tornado and another received significant damage. A number of other homes sustained minor to moderate roof damage. Again, the path length and path width of this tornado were also only 100 yards.||The combined damage from the two tornadoes and straight-line wind damage within Carroll county caused damages in excess of $10 million. Damages consisted of the destruction of three mobile homes, 18 mobile homes with major damage, and 16 mobile homes with minor damage. Thirty-five single family dwellings were destroyed, 211 single-family dwellings sustained major damage, and another 346 suffered minor damage. In addition, a total of four businesses were destroyed, 133 more which had major damage, and 31 suffering minor damage. A public works building was also destoyed. Finally, at least $800,000 in damages was reported to electric utility poles in Carroll county.

Tornado Report Description: A damage survey conducted by the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Peachtree City, Georgia confirmed that the tornado, that originally touched down in northeastern Troup county, continued into Meriwether county. The EF2 tornado entered Meriwether county a little over two miles west-southwest of Saint Marks and tracked to a point approximately 9.25 miles northwest of Greenville along Saint Marks Road, approximately 3.67 miles northeast of Saint Marks. The tornado tracked a little over two miles within Meriwether county with a maximum path width of 300 yards. Many trees were snapped or uprooted along the path of the tornado. Structural damage was confined to one shed, which was destroyed, and minor roof damage to several homes in the Saint Marks area and east-northeastward toward U.S. Highway 27. Some of this later damage may have been caused by straight-line winds.

Tornado Report Description: A survey conducted by the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Peachtree City, Georgia confirmed that a second tornado touched down in Troup county. This was spawned by the same thunderstorm that earlier spawned the first tornado south of Louise. This second tornado was also rated an EF2, touching down initially 4.5 south-southeast of Hogansville along the 1100 block of Perkins Road. The tornado tracked about one mile east-northeast across Troup county before crossing into Meriwether county. At the point of the initial touchdown on Perkins Road, a house was damaged and two trucks were destroyed as they were lifted up and tossed approximately 50 feet. Just before the tornado crossed into Meriwether county, near the intersection of Perkins Road and Duchesne Lane along the Troup/Meriwether county line, it completly lifted the roof off a brick home and partially destroyed a cinder block outbuilding. The path length within Troup county was approximately one mile with a maximum path width of 300 yards.

Tornado Report Description: Highway patrol reported a tornado near Johnston. NWS storm survey confirmed a touchdown southeast and east of Johnston. Trees and powerlines were down on McCreight, Old Plank, Waterworks, and other secondary roads with no structural damage.

Tornado Report Description: A survey conducted by the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Peachtree City, Georgia confirmed that two brief spinup tornadoes occurred within a larger and extensive area of straight-line wind damage across much of central Carroll county. The first brief tornado spinup was an EF2 in the Jonesville community, just northeast of Bowdon and west of Carrollton. The tornado touched down approximately two miles east of where the straight-line wind damage began. The tornado was only on the ground approximately 100 yards and had a path width of 100 yards as well. The roofs of two homes were completely blown off the structures, including nearly $1 million in damages to a Dalton Carpet Outlet. Hundreds of trees were also down in the area.

Tornado Report Description: A storm survey conducted by the National Weather Service in Peachtree City, Georgia confirmed that an EF2 tornado touched down approximately one mile south of Louise or 5.5 miles northeast of LaGrange in northeast Troup county. This was just one of 15 tornadoes that affected the central portion of Georgia early on Mother's Day 2008 and the first of two tornadoes, within the same parent thunderstorm, to touch down in Troup county. The tornado touched down near the intersection of U.S. Highway 29 and Willowwood Road. The tornado tracked approximately 1 mile to the east-northeast to a point less than one mile east-southeast of Louise. The path width was approximately 150 yards wide. Three homes were damaged, a well house was destroyed, and numerous large trees were snapped in half along the path of the tornado.

Tornado Report Description: The tornado touched down near Exit 205 along Interstate 20, or 5 miles east of Heflin, and traveled eastward. The tornado affected areas generally along CR-114 east of SR-46. The tornado lifted just west of the intersection of CR-114 and CR-62. Several homes were badly damaged and at least two had significant portions of their roofs blown off. Numerous trees were blown down or were snapped off along the path.

Tornado Report Description: The tornado touched down along the Talladega Scenic Drive just south of US Highway 78. It then moved along a slightly curved path until it crossed CR-79, and then tracked almost due east as it produced its most concentrated damage near SR-9. The tornado lifted near the end of Brockford Road in the vicinity of Shadow Lane, on the east side of the city of Heflin. Hundreds of trees were either snapped off or uprooted along the path. Eight homes were destroyed, and more than 40 others received significant damage.
