Wind Report Description: A tree and a powerline were reported down in the town of Bryan.

Wind Report Description: A significant straight line wind event with winds of 90 to 100 mph occurred across portions of Wood and Franklin Counties in the vicinity of Winnsboro, Texas. Numerous homes were damaged throughout Winnsboro and surrounding areas from fallen trees. Some of these homes were severely damaged. As a result of hundreds of trees down...water lines into the area were broken and power outages were widespread. Numerous vehicles were also severely damaged in Winnsboro from fallen trees. Several cattle were killed west of Winnsboro near the Hopkins and Wood County line at some dairy farms due to fallen trees and some cattle were still missing a day after the event. A significant number of trees were also downed along County Roads 2408...2403 and 2407 just north of the Wood and Hopkins County line. East of Winnsboro...numerous trees were downed in Wood County along Hwy 11 and FM 852 including the town of Perryville, Texas where trees wee downed around the fire station and around several homes.

Wind Report Description: Thunderstorm winds damaged a car port in the town of Bedias.

Wind Report Description: Widespread damage occurred over portions of central Austin when a large severe thunderstorm rolled through the downtown area. Numerous reports of large trees and branches were down along with wind blown hail. The hardest hit area was downtown near Tarrytown, Hyde Park, UT campus, and the I-35 corridor just north of the river. The combination of baseball size hail and winds of 70 to 80 mph blew out building and apartment windows throughout this area. Windows on the Texas Capitol building were blown out as well. Lions golf course and Morris Williams course sustained damage and had to briefly close. Power was knocked off to nearly 20000 customers. Large old oak trees were damaged and the city of Austin spent over 2 million dollars in cleanup and response. Total monetary losses are being estimated at 50 million dollars.

Wind Report Description: Law enforcement in Starr County reported power lines down and power outages occurred in Roma due to high winds from strong to severe thunderstorms in and near the area.

Wind Report Description: Strong winds associated with a parent supercell produced widespread damage mainly in the Lookout at Brushy Creek subdivision and a few other surrounding streets. Numerous fences, playscape equipment, and trampolines were either damaged or destroyed. Minor roof damage was seen on several homes with mainly shingles missing. A few windows and doors were blown in. Large trees were uprooted and branches were broken off. Straightline winds were estimated at 70 to 80 mph.

One of the strongest cells likely produced some of these power outages between Viboras and La Gloria along Farm-to-Market road 2686.

Wind Report Description: Damage from the microburst was first surveyed about 2 miles west of the center of town along and near Farm to Market (FM) Highway 496. In the neighborhood of Falcon Mesa, along FM 3074, numerous barrel tiles were torn from the roof; in the same neighborhood, numerous large limbs from ebony and live oak trees were blown down, and minor damage to roofs was noted at other homes. Similar tree and roof damage was noted at another neighborhood along Oak Street, just south of the Zapata Cemetary.||Farther east along FM 496, several large fiberglass storage tanks were rolled, and damaged beyond repair, at a facility between FM 3074 and the Zapata County cemetary. On the same property, a manufactured home had numerous holes in its west facing wall, from wind driven pebbles and stones. The same home had fairly significant asphalt shingle damage to its roof. A nearby low metal tower was bent in half.||The worst-looking damage was seen just west of the center of town, along FM 496 only 1/3 mile west of the intersection of Federal Highway 83. Here, significant damage was incurred to many units at the Highway 496 Storage facility. ||The microburst slammed into the west facing wall of the first of two long, cinderblock structures, and lifted most of the roof up and over the first building, slamming it into the second building about 50 feet to the east. While the truss and bracing of the roof appeared sound, only long nails were found at the connections of the eaves. Missiles generated by the broken roof drove into both cinderblock, and an individual metal garage, in the second building. Another light metal structure, housing another set of individual storage units, separated and collapsed on the leeward side of the second building. ||The microburst continued moving steadily southeast, causing notable damage to neighborhoods in the southwest part of town. Dozens of homes and other structures with poorly anchored roofing material sustained significant damage; a large portion of tin roof was removed from a two story church a few blocks from the center of town. Another barrel-tile roof was damaged at a motel, and the water leak caused at least one unit to be uninhabitable.||In all neighborhoods, hundreds of mesquite and ebony tree limbs of many shapes and sizes were snapped off, some onto roofs, including the town's public library. As the storm finally edged south, additional tree damage was noted in the Falcon Lake Estates subdivision, just south of the bridge, where a report of a blown down roof of a two story house was also received as the storm weakened slightly.||The Zapata County Emergency Manager reported power lines and several trees were down in Zapata and approximately 200 to 300 people were without power at 9 pm. ||Wind speeds were estimated to be between 70 and 75 mph area wide, with the strongest speeds generally along and just south of FM 496 from just west of the cemetary to highway 83. Total path length was estimated to be a little more than 3.5 miles long; width was estimated to be about 1.5 miles.

Tornado Report Description: An EF1 tornado track started across the northern portion of the town of Winnsboro, Texas along Hwy 11 and tracks eastward crossing Greenwood Street where a mobile home sustained minor damage. The tornado appears to have been a bookend tornado which formed along the northern end of a significant straight line wind event which affected more of the city of Winnsboro, Texas itself.

Tornado Report Description: A storm spotter saw a tornado touchdown about 2.5 miles south of Dublin on CR 338. The tornado remained on the ground for 22 seconds and no damage was reported.

Tornado Report Description: A storm survey revealed that a tornado with winds between 65 and 85 mph caused damage to storage buildings, a marina, trees, and other vegetation along the southeast side of Brady Lake.

Tornado Report Description: A relatively broad, but weak, tornadic circulation developed beneath a well-defined wall cloud near the north Loop 289 and Interstate 27 interchange in north Lubbock shortly after 15:00 CST. The brief tornado, which was photographed by a National Weather Service meteorologist, struck the Beck Steel industrial facilities and severely damaged the roof of a large metal warehouse-type structure. Car windows in a nearby parking lot also were blown out. Damage was consistent with 70 to 80 mph wind speeds via estimates using the Enhanced-Fujita Scale. No injuries were reported.

Tornado Report Description: Yoakum County law enforcement officials received a 911 call from a motorists along U.S. Highway 82/380 whom reportedly observed a tornado southwest of his location. The report corresponds well with the inflow region of a supercell thunderstorm and convergent low-level velocity signatures in Doppler radar imagery. Although local officials found no evidence of damage in the rural area, it appears the brief tornado likely occurred near the intersection of Farm to Market Roads 213 and 1780.

Tornado Report Description: An EF1 tornado with winds of 105 to 110 mph occurred in Rusk County from 930 am to 940 am CDT on Wednesday, May 14th, 2008. The tornado touched down approximately 500 yards west of County Road 1798 where a manufactured home was completely destroyed. The hope appears to have been destroyed when the winds swept under the home...lifted it off its foundation and slammed it into the ground thereby causing the entire structure to fail. The winds then scattered the debris and home contents up to three miles northeast of the home. Numerous trees were snapped and uprooted along County Road 4183. A large barn was collapsed on the west side of County Road 4182 and a shed was destroyed by a fallen tree on the east side of County Road 4182. The tornado then crossed FM 839 snapping trees and knocking down power lines. Trees were snapped and uprooted along County Road 461 including one tree that fell on an outbuilding causing severe damage. The tornado lifted several hundred yards east of County Road 461.

Tornado Report Description: Storm survey revealed a small tornado crossed a wooded area and partially struck a mobile home on Overlook Trail. There was light damage to a parked vehicle in front of the home. A small porch was damaged and lumber was thrown into the front window. A large two by four was found stuck into a pop up travel camper next to the mobile home. Numerous trees were damaged.
