Wind Report Description: Numerous large tree limbs were snapped and a few trees completely uprooted. Several power poles were blown down. At a high school, stadium lights were damaged and a dugout roof was ripped off at the baseball field. The high school roof auditorium was also damaged. Part of a gymnasium roof was also torn off. A NWS storm survey of the damage in Benavides revealed a divergent, downburst wind pattern about 1 mile wide and 3 miles long on the southwest side of the town, near Highway 359 and 339. Damage was mainly to trees, metal roofs and weaker, west facing structures.

Tornado Report Description: A weak tornado moved out of Conecuh county and into Covington county along U. S. Highway 84. The tornado moved northeast and tracked just west of Red Level where a tree fell on a house and caused major roof damage. The tornado then passed near the city of South where three homes and one mobile home were damaged. An old volunteer fire department building was also damaged. The tornado then dissipated. In addition to the structures that were damaged, many trees were blown down along the path of the tornado.

Tornado Report Description: A weak tornado first touched down just west of Paul. The tornado moved northeast and passed just east of Cohassett. The tornado moved across U. S. Highway 84 at the Conecuh and Covington county line. This is a rural area and the only damage the tornado caused was to trees. Some of the trees landed across the rural roads and had to be moved before anyone could drive on the roads.

Tornado Report Description: This tornado began on the east side of Purvis, here it downed some limbs and small trees. The tornado intensified and widened at it approached and crossed Interstate 59 near Black Creek. Numerous trees and large limbs were snapped along the path as it moved through the area between the interstate and Highway 49. Additionally, a couple homes and outbuildings were damaged by limbs or trees falling on them. The tornado intensified again and narrowed as it approached Highway 49 and the south gate of Camp Shelby. A number of large trees were downed along the highway, and from there to the actual gate of Camp Shelby. One large tree fell on a mobile home on the east side of Highway 49, destroying it. Shingles were pulled off a couple commercial buildings along the highway as well and 2 power poles were snapped. This area was where the tornado reached its maximum intensity. As the tornado moved across Camp Shelby, it remained narrow, but not as intense, with winds likely in the 70 to 80 mph range. The tornado downed numerous large limbs and sporadic trees as it moved across the base. One large tree fell on base quarters home, causing serious damage to it, and another tree fell on a vehicle, destroying it. Some other minor roof damage was noted. The tornado continued causing sporadic tree damage as it crossed Highway 98 near the Perry County line where it dissipated. Maximum winds were around 105 mph. The total path length across Lamar and Forrest Counties was 15 miles.

Tornado Report Description: An EF-1 tornado formed behind the Wal-Mart in Breaux Bridge and moved south along Highway 328, damaging several large warehouses. The tornado moved across Highway 94, destroying an insurance business and damaging several homes and apartments near it. The storm turned more to the left, and headed south through Beaux Bridge, blowing down many trees and causing more damage to homes and businesses. The tornado dissipated southeast of Breaux Bridge along Huval Road where it shifted a home off its pilings, injuring one man inside.

Tornado Report Description: This is a continuation of the tornado that began west of Maurice in Vermilion Parish. It strengthened to EF-2 intensity before dissipating a mile west of the Acadiana Mall. Near the Duhon and West Broussard Road intersection, one permanent home had the roof completely blown off, hitting the neighboring house and causing extensive damage. The two people inside the roof-less home escaped injury. Other homes along the path received minor roof or siding damage, and many trees were blown down.
