One of the storms produced downburst winds of 60 to over 90 mph along a three mile path in eastern Portage County which uprooted or snapped about 300 trees. The strongest winds, estimated near 95 mph, occurred in a localized area near Krogwold Road and Sunset Lake Road outside of Peru, where about 100 trees, mainly pine, were snapped or uprooted.
