Tornado Report Description: The tornado first developed just north of Langdales Pond and Old Clyattville Road on the south side of the city of Valdosta. Some of the most severe damage was near the beginning of the track as the tornado impacted Langdale Forest Products along Old Clyattville Road. Several large metal buildings were severely damaged or destroyed and the damage to those buildings was assigned the EF2 rating that is the maximum for this tornado. Some vehicles parked near those buildings were tossed around 70 yards across the street. Two rail cars nearby were also tipped over. The remainder of the track consisted of EF0 or EF1 damage as the tornado moved east and eventually dissipated near south Patterson Street and Dampier Street. That damage in the remainder of the track was a mixture of damage to buildings, trees, and power lines. Monetary damage was estimated.||This was the first tornado to directly affect the city of Valdosta since an F1-rated tornado on November 1, 1997.

Tornado Report Description: The tornado began just south of the intersection of County Road 301/Brewster���s Road and Highway 96 where small tree branches and an awning were broken. The path of the weak tornado continued along the path of Brewster���s Road breaking small branches before peeking out near the homes at the end of the road. The tornado reached peak intensity as it passed one home destroying a portion of the home, mainly the garage. It also damaged or destroyed 3 outbuildings near the home and downed or snapped many large pine and oak trees. The tornado continued east-northeast across a field and destroyed another carport and removed portion of an outbuilding`s roof. Four vehicles were damaged or destroyed between the two homes. The tornado then dissipated in the forest.

Tornado Report Description: A tornado touched down near FM highway 1013 west of Spurger and snapped the tops of several pine trees off. When the tornado moved to County Road 4394 two homes received minor damage to the roofs with some shingles taken off. Several trees were snapped near the base of them and a couple of sheds and barns had some metal roofing material peeled off. The tornado caused more damage to two more homes on County Road 4375 where roofing shingles or tin were partially blown off the homes, carports, and garages. More trees along this road were also snapped at the base facing north. The tornado dissipated shortly thereafter. This same storm produced the tornado in Jasper County in the Rock Hill Community.

Tornado Report Description: The tornado first caused damage to a travel trailer located to the southwest of the River Valley Mall off of Fair Avenue. It then damaged some trees in the vicinity of the Hocking River. A pickup truck was flipped on its top in the River Valley Mall parking lot. In addition, 20 to 25 cars had their windows blown out in the vicinity of the River Valley Mall along with some trees and lights poles which were broken off. The last damage was some minor roof damage to an adjacent storage building.

Tornado Report Description: A low-end EF1 tornado damaged 7 homes, downed power lines, and snapped trees. The tornado touched down about 8 miles north of Blackshear along Walkerville Road around 12:50 pm. Low end EF1 damage was noted along the tornado path as it crossed Georgia State Road 121/15. Including damage to 7 homes, power lines and large trees snapped. EF0 damage was noted after the tornado crossed Georgia State Road 121/15, with the tornado lifting after an approximate 5.7 mile path near Spotted Farm Road and Songbird Place, or about 14 miles north of Blackshear. The tornado width varied from 60-100 yards.

Tornado Report Description: A National Weather Service Storm Survey Team concluded an EF-1 tornado with winds estimated to 105 mph briefly touched down in Castle Hayne, North Carolina. The tornado destroyed a large shed, damaged a house, moved a box car type storage structure and damaged some trees. One person was injured due to flying glass. The damage was mainly confined to one property on Gladiolus Road. The tornado lifted as it neared I-140 and there was no evidence of any further touchdowns. The path length was 360 yards and the maximum path width was 25 yards.

Tornado Report Description: This tornado started along Maxey Rd and tracked northeast for a little over 5 miles. Initially the damage was light with only a tree or two snapped and large limbs broken. As the tornado crossed State Highway 28, the width of the tornado increased as well as the intensity. Here, several large pine trees were uprooted and snapped along with a few portions of wooden fence torn down. Along Gardner Rd, more trees were damaged along with some minor roof damage to some homes. A large barn had most of the roof removed with the tin scattered along the path. Similar tree damage occurred as the tornado crossed Hines Rd, Tim Holifield Rd and Service Rd. The tornado reached peak intensity as it crossed Mullican Rd. Here three homes sustained moderate roof damage with dozens of trees snapped/uprooted. A mobile home at this location was totally destroyed and unrecognizable with the undercarriage thrown a considerable distance. Two fatalities occurred in the mobile home. Next to the mobile home was a small wood frame home on a slab. This structure was removed off the foundation. A large wooden storage shed was totally destroyed as well at this location. Peak winds here were at 125 mph. From this point, the tornado narrowed and weakened as it moved northeast and tracked across Bush Dairy Rd and then State Highway 15 where it eventually lifted.

Tornado Report Description: This tornado first touched down just east of the Pearl River just south of Columbia. It quickly became strong and moved northeast impacting the southeast side of Columbia. The tornado remained on the ground through Marion County before lifting as it approached the Lamar County line. Numerous businesses, homes, mobile homes, a National Guard building and power poles and lines were heavily damaged or destroyed by the tornado. One well-built home was mostly destroyed and nearly reduced to a slab. This home received the highest damage rating. Extensive tree damage also occurred along the path of the storm. Maximum wind speed of this tornado was 165mph.

Tornado Report Description: The survey team found mostly EF1 tornado damage and found a few locations with low end EF2 damage. Damage began south of Louisiana Highway 16 near Highway 1054. Near this location, numerous trees were laid down or snapped off with some oriented to the northwest and some to the southeast. A few homes also sustained significant roof damage. On Leander Lane, 3 or 4 homes had varying roof damage with one well built home with more than half its roof pulled off and a wall collapsed in. An unanchored 12x24 shed was slid off its foundation and another outbuilding was destroyed. Two travel trailers were moved 50 yards and destroyed. Farther northeast on Eastwood Road, pine trees were snapped. Trees were also snapped near Katherine Holton Road and Chappepeela Ridge Road, along with a well built home having part of its second story roof pulled off and a wall collapsed. The tornado track ended shortly after this location near Rolling Pine Road.
