Tornado Report Description: The tornado touched down along County Road 96 near Meinhardt Loop Road West... where a few trees had their tops snapped. The tornado continued to the northeast into an area that ground survey crews could not get to between the start point and Sam Lewis Road. This stretch was likely where the tornado peaked in intensity as Sentinel 2 satellite imagery depicted substantial damage to several segments of the forest likely in the form of tree snaps and uproots. Once higher resolution imagery becomes available the tornado intensity can be reassessed. It is also in this stretch the tornado peaked in width reaching close to 200 yards wide. The tornado weakened based on satellite imagery and ground survey crew as the tornado crossed Sam Lewis Road where a metal outbuilding lost its roof and had its walls collapsed inward. No other damage was observed in this location... leading to a lower rating at this location. The tornado continued to the northeast... crossing into Washington County... where more

Tornado Report Description: NWS STORM SURVEY FOUND THAT A TORNADO IS ESTIMATED TO HAVE TOUCHED DOWN JUST WEST OF OLD CITRONELLE ROAD OR JUST EAST OF U.S. HIGHWAY 45 NEAR GULFCREST. THE TORNADO LIKELY CONTINUED ALONG RURAL FORESTED AREAS EAST OF CITRONELLE ROAD AND CELESTE ROAD THAT WERE INACCESSIBLE BY THE SURVEY TEAM BASED ON RADAR VELOCITY AND TORNADO DEBRIS SIGNATURES. THE SURVEY TEAM FOUND EVIDENCE OF SNAPPED PINE TREES JUST SOUTHWEST OF MOVICO LOOP ROAD NORTH. THE TORNADO STRENGTHENED AS IT CROSSED MOVICO LOOP ROAD EAST CAUSING SIGNIFICANT SOFTWOOD TREE SNAPS AND UPROOTING OF LARGE HARDWOOD TREES. A DOUBLE WIDE MANUFACTURED HOME THAT WAS SECURED WITH STRAPS ROLLED FROM ITS FOUNDATION AND WAS DESTROYED JUST WEST OF U.S. HIGHWAY 43. THIS IS WHERE THE TORNADO REACHED PEAK INTENSITY. THE TORNADO THEN CROSSED U.S. HIGHWAY 43 JUST NORTH OF CEDAR CREEK LANDING ROAD WHERE A SINGLE WIDE MANUFACTURED HOME ROLLED FROM ITS FOUNDATION AND WAS DESTROYED. THIS ADDITION WAS OPEN FACING WHICH ALLOWED THE WIND TO GET INSIDE OF THE STRUCTURE. A FEW STRUCTURES SUFFERED MINOR DAMAGE ALONG THE PATCH... PRIMARILY DUE TO DOWNED TREES. BASED ON RADAR DATA...
