Tornado Report Description: A NWS storm survey found a weak EF-1 tornado began near Howells Ferry Rd then progressed southeast toward Moffett Rd resulting in several uprooted hardwood trees along its path. The tornado reached a peak intensity of 90 mph (EF-1) near Mississippi St before weakening along Moffett Rd. The tornado had a peak width of around 40 yards along its 2.2 mile path.

Tornado Report Description: EF0 tornado first touched down just west of Orchard Dr... north of Howells Ferry Rd. It continued northeast and moved across the Princeton Woods subdivision. After that it crossed Moffett Rd near University Ave and came to an end. No damage was noted further east toward N University Blvd. There were numerous large branches downed with a few uprooted softwood trees along the path. Two homes had trees or large branches on their roofs.

Tornado Report Description: A very brief EF0 tornado occurred on the University of South Alabama campus. This tornado began near USA South Drive where some outdoor portable restrooms were blown over facing due northwest to west along with some metal fence barricades. The tornado continued northwest to USA North Drive where more metal fence barricades were knocked over facing west. A single softwood tree uproot also occurred here facing due north. A radar indicated tornado debris signature was also evident at this location lending credence to this damage being done by a tornado.

Tornado Report Description: A brief EF0 tornado began just west of the Mobile Regional Airport solely in forest based on radar indicated tornado debris signature. This tornado continued east across the southern portions of the airport property. No visible damage was evident on the western side of the property... however on the south side of the circulation numerous palm fronds were removed and thrown east-northeast. At Joseph Drawns Drive... a large oak branch was snapped off to the south of the longer-term parking. The entry and exit gates to the parking were broken and surged westward indicating the tornado crossed on the south side of this location. The tornado likely crossed over or just on the south side of the USPS building throwing numerous small to large tree limbs onto the adjacent road and knocking over a light pole on the backside of the USPS property. Tornado Report Description: A brief EF-0 tornado began along Cottage Hill Road just east of Dawes road. The tornado quickly intensified knocking down fences and rippin branches off. Parts of the fence were blow across Cottage Hill rd to the north. The tornado peaked as it moved towards Leroy Stevens rd resulting in a low brick wall being destroyed. Uplift to the corner of the roof of a small retail building and the most impressive damage was rolling either a small trailer or small RV. The tornado then crossed leroy stevens before dissipating. The tornado may have continued further but no convergent path was able to be found after this point.

Tornado Report Description: TORNADO BEGAN ALONG LUCERNE DRIVE AND MOVED NORTH-NORTHEAST AS IT CROSSED OVERLOOK ROAD. THE DAMAGE ALONG LUCERNE DRIVE WAS PREDOMINANTLY CONFINED TO TREES AND FENCES AS THE TORNADO MOVED TOWARD DONHAM DRIVE. THE TORNADO THEN CROSSED HOWELLS FERRY ROAD AND MOVED ALONG GRIDER ROAD. THE TORNADO CONTINUED TO THE NORTH-NORTHEAST WITH MORE DAMAGE TO SHEDS AND HOMES ALONG GRIDER ROAD. ONE HOME NEAR ROSE HILL LANE HAD SOME UPLIFT TO THE ROOF WITH MORE TREE DAMAGE NEARBY. THE TORNADO MOVED OVER A HEAVILY WOODED AREA BEFORE LIKELY LIFTING AROUND MOFFETT ROAD. THE TORNADO MAY HAVE CONTINUED OFF TO THE NORTH-NORTHEAST... BUT THAT WOODED AREA IS COMPLETELY INACCESSIBLE.

Tornado Report Description: A WEAK EF-0 TORNADO WITH PEAK WINDS OF 75MPH LIKELY BEGAN IN PINE GROVE ALONG THREEMILE CREEK AND QUICKLY MOVED NORTH ACROSS MOFFETT ROAD WHERE A TORNADO DEBRIS SIGNATURE BECAME APPARENT ON RADAR. THIS TORNADO CONTINUED ALONG PINE GROVE AVENUE WHERE A COUPLE OF OLDER/DEAD TREES WERE KNOCKED DOWN AND HEALTHIER LARGE TREE LIMBS WERE KNOCKED DOWN AT THE INTERSECTION OF PINE GROVE AVENUE AND PRINGLE DRIVE. DUE TO LIMITED ROAD ACCESS NORTH OF THIS POINT... THE REST OF THE TORNADOES PATH IS APPROXIMATED BASED ON RADAR TORNADO DEBRIS SIGNATURE AND ROTATIONAL VELOCITY. IT IS LIKELY THE TORNADO ENDED JUST TO THE SOUTHEAST OF LAIDLAW LANE PRIOR TO REACHING WOLF RIDGE ROAD.

Tornado Report Description: AN EF-0 TORNADO CAME ONSHORE NEAR THE SOUTHERN END OF MOBILE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT. THE START POINT OF THIS IS BASED ON VISUAL CONFIRMATION OF THE TORNADO VIA PICTURES AND VIDEO. THE TORNADO CROSSED PARTS OF THE AIRPORT... WITH NO NOTABLE DAMAGE HAVING OCCURRED. AS THE TORNADO TRACKED NORTHWEST... IT FINALLY MOVED ACROSS SOUTH BROAD STREET WHERE IT REMOVED BRANCHES FROM TREES AND DAMAGED SOME FENCING. THE FINAL OBSERVABLE DAMAGE POINT WAS ON AVENUE C WHERE METAL ROOFING WAS REMOVED FROM A BUILDING... WITH THE METAL CANOPY/OVERHANG COLLAPSED AT THE END OF THE BUILDING. THE TORNADO MAY HAVE CONTINUED SLIGHTLY NORTH-NORTHWEST OF THIS POINT... BUT THE AREA WAS INACCESSIBLE DUE TO LIMITED ROAD ACCESS.

Tornado Report Description: A BRIEF AND VERY NARROW HIGH END EF-1 TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN AT THE GREERS AND FAMILY DOLLAR ON BROAD STREET. THE TORNADO DIRECTLY MOVED OVER THE FAMILY DOLLAR WITH THE BUILDING COMPLETELY DESTROYED. THE TORNADO LIFTED OFF THE ROOF AND THEN THE ROOF COLLAPSED BACK DOWN ONTO BUILDING... RESULTING IN ITS DESTRUCTION. THE TORNADO CONTINUED TO PRODUCE SPORADIC EF0 DAMAGE TO THE NORTHEAST AND LIFTED NEAR TEXAS STREET JUST EAST OF BROAD STREET.

Tornado Report Description: NWS SURVEY TEAM FOUND AN EF1 TORNADO BEGAN NEAR RABBIT CREEK DR. IN THEODORE... AL AND MOVED NORTHEAST ACROSS RANGELINE ROAD. SEVERAL WOODEN POWER POLES WERE SNAPPED ALONG RANGLINE ROAD WITH ABOUT A HALF MILE SWATH OF STRAIGHT-LINE DAMAGING WINDS ESTIMATED NEAR 100 MPH EXTENDING SOUTH OF THE TRACK. FEW TREES WERE UPROOTED OR SNAPPED ALONG RABBIT CREEK DRIVE EAST OF RANGLINE ROAD AND SOME MINOR STRUCTURAL DAMAGE WAS NOTED WITHIN THE ADJACENT NEIGHBORHOODS. THE TORNADO CONTINUED NORTHEAST TOWARDS THE DOG RIVER WHERE MORE TREES WERE SNAPPED AND UPROOTED CAUSING SEVERAL POWER POLES TO SNAP AS WELL. THE TORNADO LIKELY LIFTED AS IT CROSSED DOG RIVER.

Tornado Report Description: A VERY BRIEF... WEAK EF-0 TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN JUST NORTH OF ZEIGLER BLVD ON DURBIN COURT AND TRACKED NORTHEAST... LIFTING AS IT APPROACHED THE MOBILE FAIRGROUNDS. THE DAMAGE WITH THE TORNADO WAS VERY SPORADIC AND LIGHT... WITH MAINLY BRANCHES OF SOFTWOOD TREES DAMAGED. IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT MOST OF THE NOTABLE DAMAGE WAS FROM 60 TO 70 MPH STRAIGHT LINE WINDS THAT CONTINUED FURTHER TO THE NORTH AND EAST TOWARD THE OVERLOOK DR AND MOFFETT ROAD AREAS... RESULTING IN SPORADIC TREE... POWER LINE... AND MINOR ROOF DAMAGE. THANKS TO MOBILE COUNTY EMA FOR THEIR ASSISTANCE.

Tornado Report Description: THE TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN JUST SOUTH OF HITT ROAD IN THE SMITHFIELD SUBDIVISION AND TRACKED SOUTHEAST FOR APPROXIMATELY 3.1 MILES BEFORE LIFTING JUST SOUTHEAST OF THE INTERSECTION OF HILLCREST RD AND COTTAGE HILL RD. THE TORNADO PRODUCED SPORADIC EF-0 AND EF-1 DAMAGE ALONG THE WAY... PRIMARILY TO TREES AND FENCES. SOME HOMES WERE DAMAGED BY FALLING LIMBS/TREES.

Tornado Report Description: SURVEY CREWS FOUND A WEAK TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN NEAR INDUSTRIAL CANAL RD SNAPPING A SMALL TREE AND BLOWING DOWN A POWER POLE. INSULATION FROM A ROOF WAS ALSO BLOWN OUT. THE TORNADO LIFTED SHORTLY AFTER.

Tornado Report Description: The initial tornado touchdown was located near|Dauphin Island Parkway...Duval Street and Halls Mill Road...where it|initially moved northwestward. The tornado continued northward to|near the intersections of Holcomb Avenue...Government Street and|Dauphin Island Parkway where it produced damage consistent with an|EF-1 tornado...damaging several commercial retailers. The tornado|continued northward...damaging homes and producing roof damage to|numerous homes. It then reached Murphy High School...where it|destroyed several out-buildings...blew out windows and produced|significant roof damage to the high school. From here...The tornado|tracked northward to Dauphin Street where it strengthened and widened|to 200 yards producing damage consistent with an EF-2 tornado to|several homes. Also significantly damaged was the Trinity Episcopal|Church on Dauphin Street. The tornado then moved into the Silverwood|Street area where it produced EF-1 damage and sporadic EF-2 damage to|several homes. The tornado next tracked north northeast across the|Mobile Infirmary Hospital ...where it blew out several windows and|damaged several automobiles...as well as flipping one automobile. The|tornado continued tracking northeastward across interstate 165 moving|into the Prichard area where it produced damage to the roofs of|several homes...as well as snapping several trees. The tornado|continued across Telegraph Road where it tossed several large|shipping containers and damaged a warehouse facility before|dissipating on Jakes Lane in Prichard.

Tornado Report Description: The tornado initially touched down along Michael Boulevard producing|EF-0 damage (winds estimated up to 85 mph) where it damaged the roof|of the YMCA and produced moderate damage to the Davidson High School|baseball field. The tornado continued moving northeast|strengthening as it moved across Montlimar Boulevard producing EF-1|damage (from winds estimated at 86 to 110 mph) to several businesses|on the southwest corner of the Interstate 65/Airport Boulevard|intersection. The tornado circulation widened to near 75 yards as|it moved northeast affecting numerous homes through midtown mobile,|blowing large sections of roofs off of several homes, snapping or|blowing over numerous trees. Here the storm produced damages|estimated in the millions of dollars to local businesses (including|significant amounts of damage to the facility and inventory of a|Mercedes Benz dealership). Also impacted was the regional American|Red Cross headquarters in Mobile where significant damage to the|roof and damage to several support vehicles/trailers was noted. The|tornado continued at EF-1 strength as it tracked northeast into the|city of Prichard doing similar damage, before weakening and|dissipating along U.S. Highway 43 at Woodland Avenue.

Tornado Report Description: The tornado touched down at the corner of Bomar Place and Michael Boulevard (30.670618 deg. latitude and -88.153471 deg. longitude) where the damage assessment team found one home with roof damage, and 4 other homes with minor gutter and fascia damage. Several trees suffered damage by being snapped off at the top or losing several large limbs. Wind estimates at this location were approximately 65 mph based on the damage seen. The width of the path at this location was approximately 100 yards.||The second damage point the team found was at the corner of Michael Boulevard and Azalea Road (30.6705 deg latitude and -88.1494 deg Longitude). At this location the path widened to approximately 150 Yards and the circulation intensified. Meteorologists here found evidence of winds near 92 mph with sections of roofing missing from 2 restaurants (one a McDonald's) and 1 car-wash. Several windows were blown out of the McDonald's restaurant. A Chevron gas station next door had several pumps blown over with metal panels blown away from the metal canopy. Damage at this location was estimated to be in the EF-1 range of the Enhanced Fujita Scale.||The intensity of the damage weakened at the Cabana Apartments (between Azalea Road and Downtowner Boulevard at 30.6714 deg latitude and 88.1428 deg longitude). Here the team found minor damage to some pine trees with sections of large limbs stripped out. Wind estimates at this point were near 65 mph with a path width of 80 yards.||The tornado re-intensified at the Festival Center between Downtowner Boulevard and Montlimar Drive (30.6724 deg Latitude and -88.1387 deg longitude). Here the team found damage at 2 buildings in the Festival Center where sections of roofing were blown off. On the roof of Virginia College, 6 large air conditioning units (HVAC) were damaged and blown off of their mounts. One of the air conditioning units was blown off of the 2 story roof and landed in the parking lot in front of Virginia College. Wind estimates based on the damage observed indicated winds near 108 MPH at this location, or EF-1 on the Enhanced Fujita Scale. ||The tornado lifted near Montlimar Drive between the Home Depot and Sonic Restaurant at 30.671745 deg latitude and -88.133328 deg longitude. At this location minor tree damage (large limbs stripped out of pine trees) was observed along with a section of a large metal sign being damaged at the Sonic. Winds were estimated to be near 70 mph at this location. ||Interviews of individuals at the damage sites and a post-analysis of NWS doppler radar data from Mobile suggests the storm passed through the area between 417 AM CST and 421 AM CST. No injuries were reported to the National Weather Service from this short lived tornado. Total dollar damage estimates are not available.

Tornado Report Description: A large waterspout over Mobile Bay moved ashore near downtown Mobile and dissipated quickly. No damage occurred from the tornado. The large waterspout was visible over the Bay for several minutes. Several people from some of the taller buildings in downtown got an excellent view of the waterspout.

Tornado Report Description: An F0 tornado first touched down in southwest Mobile county about 8 miles southwest of the Mobile Regional Airport. The initial touchdown was near Jeff Hamilton Road, just to the east of Newman Road. The weak tornado moved across open fields and forest, moving across Newman Road near the Branson subdivision. The tornado then moved through the subdivision, blowing down several trees. Some homes were damaged as a result of the fallen trees, while other homes suffered roof damage due to the high winds. The tornado then moved north and crossed Airport Boulevard just west of Newman Road. More trees were blown down here, and several more homes suffered damage, mainly to roofs, from either fallen trees or high winds. The tornado then lifted back into the cloud, about 5 miles southwest of the Mobile Airport. The line of thunderstorms that produced the tornado was associated with the remnants of Tropical Storm Allison, which were moving east across the region.

Tornado Report Description: A weak tornado developed just to the west of the Mobile Regional Airport, touching down along Newman Road. The brief tornado touchdown produced some minor shingle damage to the roofs of a couple of homes, minor damage to a few tin out buildings, and downed a couple of trees and a few power lines.

Tornado Report Description: It was found from a National Weather Service Storm Survey that a F1 tornado struck near downtown Mobile. The tornado's path length was approximately 1 mile long and touched down near I -165, passing through the State Docks area. Some roof damage to apartments occurred near I-165. The storm then moved through the State Docks area, where four buildings suffered major damage. Some ship containers were also turned over. No injuries were reported, but several birds were killed.

Tornado Report Description: An F0 tornado touched down just west of I-65 and Airport Boulevard. The tornado first touched down at the Lafayette Apartments near Downtowner Boulevard and damaged several apartment roofs. A brick wall was also blown down at the apartments. The tornado moved north and blew some trees and awnings down. The tornado crossed Airport and caused roof damage to some apartments at Maison De Ville. The tornado continued moving north and blew some trees down north of Conway before lifting back into the clouds. The tornado spent most of its time at tree or roof level. No injuries were reported.
