Tornado Report Description: TORNADO MOVED INTO CHOCTAW COUNTY AL FROM CLARKE COUNTY MS ALONG CR 20. SEVERAL SOFTWOOD TREES WERE SNAPPED AND HARDWOODS UPROOTED ALONG CR 20. AS THE TORNADO MOVED NORTHEAST... TREE DAMAGE CONTINUED ALONG HINTON RD AND FAITH RD IN THE HINTON COMMUNITY. MINOR ROOF DAMAGE OCCURRED TO A HOME ALONG HINTON ROAD AND A SINGLE WIDE MODULAR HOME WAS FLIPPED ON ITS SIDE AND HEAVILY DAMAGED. THE TRACK CONTINUED NORTHEAST ACROSS ROCK GAP RD AND EVENTUALLY ACROSS MT. NEBO RD WHERE NUMEROUS HARD AND SOFTWOODS WERE UPROOTED OR SNAPPED. A ROOF OF A TWO STORY HOME WAS PARTIALLY REMOVED ALONG HIGHWAY 10 AND SEVERAL LARGE HARDWOOD TREES WERE UPROOTED. THE TORNADO CROSSED HIGHWAY 10 WHERE IT LIFTED JUST WEST OF RUFFINTOWN RD. THE DAMAGE ALONG THE CHOCTAW COUNTY PORTION OF THE TRACK WAS CONSISTENT WITH A HIGH END EF-1. THIS TORNADO IS A CONTINUATION OF A TRACK THAT BEGAN IN JONES COUNTY MS AND PRODUCED EF-3 DAMAGE IN LAUREL. BASED ON INFORMATION FROM NWS JACKSON... THE TORNADO TRACKED A TOTAL OF 51 MILES F

Tornado Report Description: The tornado touched down along Pineview Road near|the Riderwood community...or approximately 8 miles west southwest|of Butler. The worst damage occurred in this area as three|manufactured homes were completely destroyed...with the debris being|blown several hundred yards away. Several other structures sustained|minor to moderate damage...including one mobile home and one single|family residence. A couple of barns/outbuildings were also almost|completely destroyed. The tornado then moved northeast crossing|Dollywood Road and County Road 24...where extensive tree damage|occurred in the heavily forested area. From there...the tornado|continued northeast crossing Riderwood Drive where numerous trees|were snapped or uprooted. The damage path was at its widest along|Riderwood Drive...approximately one half mile. The damage path then|narrowed and the tornado lifted before reaching Alabama Highway 10.

Tornado Report Description: Tornado touched down just west of Highway 17 near the Red Springs area, and quickly intensified as it moved southeast of Butler towards the Tombigbee River. National Weather Service ground and aerial surveys shows a 600 yard wide path of trees snapped just above the ground or uprooted, with several homes either damaged or destroyed along the path across the Ararat Road, Dansby Road, and County Road 43. Several homes either had large sections of their roof removed with several mobile homes damaged or completely destroyed. The tornado continued east across the Tombigbee River into Marengo County Alabama. The Alabama Forestry Commission estimates timber losses along this tornado track to be near 4.3 million dollars. Property damages to homes are estimated to be near 1 million dollars.

Tornado Report Description: It was determined from a National Weather Service Storm Survey that a strong F1 tornado first touched down near State Highway 17 and County Road 18 just East of Needham. The tornado tracked Northeast across large wooded areas where tree damage occurred. The tornado then crossed County Road 23 just North of Morgan Chapel where several homes sustained roof damage. The tornado continued tracking Northeast across mainly wooded areas...crossing County Road 43 just North of Mt. Sterling. Damage along this portion of the track was mainly to trees. The tornado then moved across Browns Landing Road to County Road 27 East of Mt. Sterling where the tornado lifted back into the clouds. The most substantial structural damage occurred along the track between Browns Landing Road and County Road 27.
