Tornado Report Description: A Myakka State Forest Ranger reported tornado damage to a ranger station and a mobile home trailer at around 3:50 am. A subsequent NWS storm survey found a 50 yard wide, one mile long intermittent path of damage that included snapped and uprooted trees and a mobile home trailer that had been picked up and tossed 30 to 40 yards. The damage was found to be consistent with an EF-0 tornado making multiple touchdowns with estimated peak winds of 85 mph. The survey found low end EF-0 damage to the east of the Myakka River that included minor roof damage, a bent stop sign pole, and numerous broken tree branches.

Tornado Report Description: A short lived tornado, that originated in Charlotte county and was associated with an outer rainband of Hurricane Gordon, briefly touched down, snapped a few trees, downed power lines and damaged a few carports, east of the intersection of Interstate 75 and Toledo Blade Boulevard. The tornado continued to sporadically touch down along a narrow path as it moved rapidly north across Interstate 75 over rural southeast Sarasota county before it lifted and dissipated.

Tornado Report Description: A National Weather Service damage survey, in coordination with Sarasota Emergency Management officials, concluded that a tornado in the high end of the F0 range, first touched down in the Lazy River mobile home park along U.S. Highway 41 and the Myakka River. The tornado continued to move east southeast and sporadically touched down in the Harbor Cove, Lacasa, Harbor Isles and Holiday mobile home parks along and south of U.S. Highway 41 before it lifted and dissipated near the intersection of U.S. Highway 41 and Hikina Drive.The tornado caused moderate roof and structural damage to three weathered mobile homes and caused minor roof, porch, lanai and carport damage to an additional 300 mobile homes along its path. Also, a few large trees along the tornado path were snapped or toppled.
