EF1 damage was indicated in Cobb County with maximum wind speeds around 95 MPH and a path width of 100 yards. EF0 Damage was indicated after the tornado crossed into Fulton County. Tornado Report Description: A survey conducted by The Weather Channel concluded that a very brief EF0 tornado touched down near Lassiter High School, about five miles northeast of Marietta, or near the intersection of Mountain View School Road and Sims Drive, just east of Trickum Road and Shallowford Road. Convergent tree rotation was observed in this area, which otherwise was embedded within a nine-mile long path of damage that extended from the Canterbury Woods Country Club on the west to just north of Roswell on the east. The damage path for this tornado was about one-half block long and 20-yards wide. Extensive damage to trees and homes was noted in the area.

Tornado Report Description: A survey conducted by the National Weather Service in Peachtree City, GA concluded that a second and stronger F1 tornado affected far northern Cobb county and continued eastward into North Fulton county. The tornado touched down in the Noonday community or about seven miles north of Marietta just south of the intersection fo Canton Road/Georgia Highway 5 and Jamerson Road and traveled east a more or less continuous 18-mile long path into North Fulton county. Substantial damage was reported to homes and trees at the tornado's initial touchdown point in the Jamerson subdivision. At least 60 homes in the Jamerson subdivision sustained damage, 10 with major damage and 50 with minor damage. In addition, at least 200 trees were down in this area. Intermittent damage continued eastward from this point toward North Fulton county. Minor damage was reported to several homes in the Sweat Mountain area just before the tornado crossed into North Fulton county. Within Cobb county, this tornado traveled a 7-mile long path with a path width of anywhere from 10 to 200 yards. Tornado Report Description: A survey conducted by the National Weather Service in Peachtree City, GA concluded that a two segmented F0 tornado traveled across central Cobb county. The tornado path consisted of two segments, one an approximately two-mile wide path beginning in western Cobb county near the community of Due West, and the second segment beginning in eastern Cobb county in the heart of Marietta traveling a brief 0.5 mile-long path across U.S. Highway 41 and Interstate-75. The tornado first touched down near Due West Road and Georgia Highway 120 and traveled to a point approximately 2-miles east of this point, or from about eight miles west to six miles west of Marietta. Approximately five homes in the Corn Lake area sustained minor damage from downed trees while a sixth home in the same subdivision sustained major damage. The second segment of the tornado touched down in the heart of Marietta near the intersection of U.S. Highway 41/Cobb Parkway and Roswell Street and traveled eastward about 0.5 mile terminating just east of Interstate-75. Minor damage was reported to a couple of shopping centers in the area near the intersection of Roswell Road, Frey's Gin Road, and Frey's Gin Court. Damage in this area was confined mainly to downed or damage trees. From here, the tornado continued approximately 0.5 mile east-southeast along or near Wylie Road across Interstate-75 and terminated just past the Harry's Crossing Shopping center on the edge of a residential area. The damage along the path was sporadic. The most significant damage in this area was to a business that sold playground equipment. Several of the large wooden frame structures were moved around and one tossed into a row of trees. Very minor damage was noted within the Harry's Crossing Shopping Center. The final damage with this tornado appeared to be to several large trees in the adjacent residential area along Blanche Road and Charles Avenue. A total of 100 trees were either damaged or blown down along the second path of this tornado. The first tornado path was 2-miles long and 50 yards wide, while the second tornado path was 0.5 mile long and 50 yards wide.

Tornado Report Description: The same supercell that had tracked from Alabama across Haralson and Paulding counties spawned another tornado in Smyrna. The touchdown was along Windy Hill Road just west of Cobb Parkway where a commercial building sustained heavy damage. A filling station and car dealership less than a block east also sustained heavy damage. There was $500,000 to $750,000 in damage to new cars. Trees over a foot in diameter were snapped or uprooted. In total, 59 buildings were damaged, but no injuries were reported. Aerial and ground surveys by NWS employees showed the path varied from 100 to 200 yards wide with a length of about 3 miles. The tornado crossed just into Fulton county near I-285 and the Chattahoochee River. Dime to quarter size hail and other wind damage were also reported in north and central Cobb county.

Tornado Report Description: A preliminary survey confirmed a small F1 tornado touched down for less than 30 seconds. Path width 30 yards...Length 100 yards. A Dairy Queen sustained the worst damage, as the roof was completely destroyed. A pay phone on the southeast side of the building held the roof up, sparing the lives of the 30 people inside. Four of the occupants sustained minor injuries. A business sign next door to the restaurant was knocked over. A Chevy van was picked up and moved although there appeared to be only slight cosmetic damage to it.

Tornado Report Description: A tornado touched down in the Big Oaks subdivision two miles southwest of Kennesaw Mt. National Battlefield Park along Georgia Highway 120 at the intersection of Villa Rica and Friendship Church Roads. The tornado continued on the ground and moved northeast across Georgia Highway 120 through the Martin Ridge subdivision before dissipating at the Burnt Hickory Road at the base of Kennesaw Mountain. The tornado left a path one quarter mile wide and destroyed 20 homes, severely damaged an additional 80 homes and downed six to seven hundred trees. Damage estimated of property was estimated around 3 million dollars. Only one minor injury was reported with this storm. Residents who heard warning sirens took cover about five minutes prior to the touchdown. They stated that they heard sounds of a roaring train as the tornado passed overhead. Dallas Highway (Georgia Highway 120) was closed for several hours as numerous trees were downed across the roadway by tornadic winds. Over 14,000 residences and businesses were without power for at least six hours due to power lines downed by tornadic winds.

Tornado Report Description: The tornado touched down near Lost Mountain in Western Cobb County and proceded on an east southeat path across rural portions of the county, initially uprooting mainly trees and downing power lines. As the tornado moved over Marietta it touched down and caused severe damage to two condominium complexes, a large strip shopping center, and several apartment complexes. Over 400 condominiums, apartments, businesses, and mobile homes sustained damage from the tornado. Of the 400 structures damaged, 113 were mobile homes. In Marietta, several mobile home parks were severely damaged near Dobbins Air Force Base. Several businesses and industrial parks in Marietta sustained major damage. Box cars were pushed off railroad tracks. Numerous trees, poles, and power lines were downed which caused extensive power outages. Many of the trees were twisted or snapped in half. Over 9,100 Marietta Georgia Power customers lost their power as a result of the tornado.
