Wind Report Description: As a line of severe thunderstorms moved through Mason County, numerous trees, tree limbs, and power lines were blown down. Also, thousands of acres of corn were laid down. At the intersection of Route 97 and the Bath blacktop, a tree was blown over onto a van trapping its occupants. They were freed by rescue crews and sustained no injuries. In the Sanganois conservation area, another car was trapped by a fallen tree, but there were no injuries. Damage to the crops was estimated around $12.3 million.

Wind Report Description: As a bow echo moved east across Mason County, numerous trees were blown down. Some of the trees caused minor structural damage. Also, a roof was lifted off of a house and an old drive-in movie screen was blown over. Five miles west of Manito, several power lines and trees were blown down in the Woodland Estates Subdivision. Several homes sustained minor damage from the fallen trees. A 60 mph wind gust was reported in Bath. Damage in Mason County due to the thunderstorm winds was estimated around $200,000.

Tornado Report Description: EF1... peak wind speed 105 mph... path length 31.85 miles. This long track tornado spanned nearly the entire width of Mason County... starting in Bath and ending just across the Logan County line in San Jose. In Bath... a few walls collapsed. Along the path... a number of irrigation pivots were overturned... and trees were snapped. Grain bins were destroyed along Peterville Rd east of state highway 97... along with near the intersection of 1300N and 2600E. Some of the greatest damage was in San Jose... where several huge trees were snapped.

Tornado Report Description: The tornado touched down on the south side of town and moved north. A frame house received damage to the middle part of the roof and an unattached garage was destroyed. The garage debris was deposited on a neighbor's roof. The tornado continued north through town, snapping off telephone poles and took half the roof off of another house. Debris from this roof was thrown half a mile and landed next to the Illinois River. Exterior walls of this house were also buckled inward up to three feet. Another unattached garage was destroyed, part of the roof of the Bath Firehouse was torn off, and numerous 3 to 4 foot diameter trees were uprooted. Several more homes and businesses sustained minor damage with siding, shingle, and fence damage before the tornado lifted and dissipated. In Bath, nine homes were severely damaged with a total of 43 homes receiving some kind of damage. No injuries were reported and no damage estimate was available.

Tornado Report Description: A tornado touched down 3 miles southwest of Snicarte. It moved a two story frame house three feet off its foundation with its TV antenna wrapped over the top of the house. An exterior wall on the far side of the house was blown off. Some roof and siding damage also occurred with two 3 foot diameter trees next to the house uprooted. Just north of the house 3 outbuildings were destroyed as well as two grain bins. The tornado continued on a northeast track, skipping along the path tipping over some irrigation equipment, destroying another barn, and knocking over numerous large pine trees before dissipating. No injuries were reported and no damage estimate was available.
