TWO NEIGHBORING HOUSES HAD ABOUT 5-10 FEET OF SHINGLE/AWNING DAMAGE. SURROUNDING THESE HOUSES... THERE WAS LITTLE TO NO LEAF OR TREE DEBRIS... NO OTHER STRUCTURAL DAMAGE WAS NOTED... CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS WERE NOT MOVED AND THE TARPED ROOFS WERE NOT TOUCHED. IN THE SECOND LOCATION... ONLY ONE HOUSE HAD A FEW FEET OF SIDING DAMAGE AND MANY OF THE CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS WERE NOT MOVED WHILE A FEW WERE. THERE WAS SOME LEAF DEBRIS NOTED IN THIS AREA. Tornado Report Description: A National Weather Service storm damage survey indicated that a waterspout moved onshore from Lake Pontchartrain as a weak tornado before dissipating. Intermittent property damage occurred to a few houses and businesses from near the lakefront and Severn Avenue to a few blocks south of West Esplanade and Hessemmer Avenue. Damage occurred to trees, fences, and a few roofs.

Several retail buildings and warehouses had significant damage to roofs, and several trailers were overturned. The tornado exited Jefferson Parish just northeast of Old Metaire and entered New Orleans, Orleans Parish.
