It moved northeast where it destroyed a garage... a mobile home shifted over off its foundation... and part of a roof was removed from a home. An old frame home was completely destroyed. The tornado continued to move northeast and crossed Fats Rd leaving debris across the roadway. The tornado then formed convergent patterns over a sugarcane field and 705. It continued northeast and dissipated near Toups Rd.

Tornado Report Description: A tornado began south of Gueydan near the LA 91 and LA 3143 intersection, where a large barn was destroyed and several homes had minor roof damage. Several gravestones were overturned at a local cemetary. When the tornado reached Gueydan, it flipped one single-wide mobile home that was tied down, destroying it, and heavily damaged two other mobile homes. At least 20 other homes in town received minor roof damage, and the town hall had roof damage as well. Numerous trees were snapped or blown down along the path. One minor injury happened in one mobile home when a man tried to escape his house after the storm and he stepped on broken glass, cutting his feet.

Tornado Report Description: The Gueydan Tornado began about 4 miles southwest of town near Ellis Bridge Road, blowing down a few trees Burnell Road and Humble Road. The tornado then moved north-northeastward causing extensive roof and siding damage to several homes just east of Highway 91 south of Gueydan. One tied-down mobile home was rolled over and completely destroyed, and another mobile home had its entire roof blown off. Trees and powerlines were also blown down in the area. The tornado then moved across Gueydan, causing intermittent damage to homes and trees along a narrow swath. One small outbuilding was blown into the water tower located in the northeast portion of town and destroyed. Continuing north-northeastward, the tornado blew down numerous trees at a farm on the southern end of JD Simon Road, and knocked down a power pole along Highway 713 west of Dallas Guidry Road. The tornado then curved northward, blowing down several tree limbs at a residence along Bill Searle Road west of Calvin Road, before dissipating. In total, approximately 50 homes were damaged by this tornado.
