THE TORNADO THEN CROSSED THORNTON-TOLARSVILLE RD WHERE HEAVY TREE DAMAGE WAS NOTED AND ONE MOBILE HOME HAD SOME OF THE ROOF OFF. THIS SECTION IS WHERE THE TORNADO PEAKED INTENSITY WITH 110 MPH WINDS. THE TORNADO CONTINUED NNE OVER MOSTLY WOODED AREA AND CROSSED QUEENIE M JOHNSON RD WHERE IT WEAKENED... NARROWED AND CAUSED TREE DAMAGE. IT THEN CROSSED HOWARD AND JONES ROADS BEFORE DISSIPATING. Tornado Report Description: The tornado caused extensive tree damage along a path from U.S. Highway 49W north of Yazoo City, northeast along the west side of U.S. Highway 49E, to just northwest of the Eden Community. It caused roof damage to a home on Money Sunk Road, and damaged the front porch of another home. The tornado crossed Highway 49E at the Holmes County line, continuing to snap and uproot numerous trees. The tornado dissipated over the Hillside National Wildlife Refuge. Maximum estimated winds were 100 mph. The total path length across Yazoo and Holmes Counties was 9.6 miles.

Tornado Report Description: This tornado initially touched down 1 mile south of Tchula and moved northeast to 2 miles east southeast of Emory. The path width and strength varied along the path, but at its widest point was 200 yards. The worst damage occurred at a school 2 miles east of Tchula where major damage was done. Fortunately the the school was almost vacant. Along the remainder of the path mostly F1 and F2 damage occurred. Several houses were damaged and one mobile home was flipped over. Of course numerous trees were blown down along the entire path.
