Tornado Report Description: A BRIEF TORNADO WITH MAXIMUM ESTIMATED WINDS OF 80 MPH MOVED ACROSS PORTIONS OF RURAL NORTHWEST NESHOBA COUNTY NEAR THE ALICE COMMUNITY. THE TORNADO INITIALLY TOUCHED DOWN NEAR THE COUNTY ROAD 167 AND 177 INTERSECTION UPROOTING A FEW PINES AND DOWNING LIMBS. THE TORNADO MOVED NORTHEAST PARALLELING COUNTY ROAD 167 AND REACHING ITS MAXIMUM INTENSITY OF 80 MPH AS IT CONTINUED TO PRODUCE INTERMITTENT TREE DAMAGE. THE TORNADO CROSSED COUNTY ROAD 171 SOUTH OF THE COUNTY ROAD 167 INTERSECTION AND DISSIPATED SOUTH OF HIGHWAY 19.

THE TORNADO REACHED MAXIMUM INTENSITY AS IT CROSSED FROM NESHOBA COUNTY INTO WINSTON COUNTY WITH MAXIMUM WINDS ESTIMATED AT 110 MPH. NUMEROUS LARGE TREES IN MIXED FOREST WERE UPROOTED OR SNAPPED AND MULTIPLE POWER POLES WERE BROUGHT DOWN. SEVERAL TREES FELL ONTO HOMES... VEHICLES... AND OUTBUILDINGS. CANOPIES TORN AWAY AND LOTS AND LOTS OF TREES WERE DOWN AND BLOCKING ROADWAYS. WIDESPREAD POWER OUTAGES WERE REPORTED THROUGHOUT THE CITY AND COUNTY.

Tornado Report Description: THIS EF-1 TORNADO BEGAN IN A WOODED AREA ABOUT A HALF MILE EAST OF DEEMER ROAD AND TRACKED NORTHEAST ABOUT 3 MILES. THE TORNADO MOVED ACROSS HOLLAND AVE KNOCKING DOWN NUMEROUS TREES IN THE AIRPARK SUBDIVISION. NUMEROUS TREES WERE ALSO DOWNED AND SNAPPED ACROSS THE GOLF COURSE AT THE PHILADEPHIA COUNTRY CLUB AND THE NEIGHBORING COMMUNITY TO THE NORTHEAST. SEVERAL LARGE HARDWOOD TREES WERE SNAPPED ALONG MCKEE STREET BETWEEN BOUNDS AVE AND WILL AVE WHERE WINDS WERE NEAR 105 MPH. THE TORNADO CONTINUED ACROSS MAIN STREET BEFORE DISSIPATING IN A WOODED AREA. THERE WAS SOME STRUCTURAL DAMAGE FROM LARGE HARDWOOD TREES FALLING ON HOMES.

Tornado Report Description: THIS EF1 TORNADO STARTED NEAR HOSPITAL ROAD WEST AND TRACKED NORTHEAST THROUGH PORTIONS OF PHILADELPHIA. THE TORNADO ENDED JUST NORTH OF EAST MAIN STREET IN EAST PHILADELPHIA. ALONG THE PATH... NUMEROUS LARGE LIMBS WERE SNAPPED AND NUMEROUS TREES WERE SNAPPED AND UPROOTED. A TREE WAS BLOWN OVER ON A HOUSE... AND AN OUTER WALL COLLAPSED AT THE URGENT CARE CENTER ON EAST MAIN STREET. THE TRACK WAS 1.91 MILES AND THE MAX WIDTH WAS 880 YARDS. THE ESTIMATED MAXIMUM WINDS WERE 110 MPH.

Tornado Report Description: THIS TORNADO BEGAN OVER A MARSHY AREA JUST SOUTH OF HOOPER MILL CREEK RD WHERE SEVERAL LARGE TREE BRANCHES WERE SNAPPED. IT THEN MOVED NORTHEAST CROSSING COUNTY ROADS 165 AND 820 WHERE SEVERAL SOFTWOOD TREES WERE UPROOTED. THE TORNADO TOOK ON A SLIGHT EASTWARD MOVEMENT AS IT CROSSED SEVERAL ROADS IN THE VICINITY OF HWY 19 WHERE ADDITIONAL SOFTWOOD TREES WERE UPROOTED. A SWATH OF TREE DAMAGE CONTINUED ALONG COUNTY ROADS 834... 838... 571 AND 1361 BEFORE THE TORNADO CROSSED HWY 15. THE TORNADO BEGAN TO WEAKEN AS IT TRACKED ALONG COUNTY ROAD 844 AND 573 WHERE SEVERAL LARGE TREE LIMBS WERE SNAPPED BEFORE DISSIPATING EAST OF 573 IN A MARSHY AREA ALONG THE PEARL RIVER.

THIS BRIEF TORNADO BEGAN JUST TO THE WEST OF CR 151 AND TRACKED JUST SOUTH OF EAST IN THE HOPE COMMUNITY AND DISSIPATED AFTER IT CROSSED HIGHWAY 488. ONE HOME SUSTAINED MODERATE SHINGLE AND ROOF DAMAGE ALONG CR 151. THE TORNADO APPEARED TO PEAK AS IT CROSSED CR 147 WHERE A SOLID AREA OF PINES WERE SNAPPED. MAXIMUM ESTIMATED WINDS WERE 100 MPH AND RATED EF1. MAX PATH WIDTH 250 YARDS.

Tornado Report Description: THE TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN AT COUNTY ROAD 717 BREAKING SMALL TO LARGE SOFTWOOD AND HARDWOOD TREE LIMBS. AS IT MOVED NORTHEAST TO COUNTY ROAD 450 IT SNAPPED AND UPROOTED SEVERAL HARDWOOD TREES; IN ADDITION TO PEELING PORTIONS OF A TIN ROOF OFF A BARN. IT CONTINUED TO BREAK OFF SMALL AND LARGE SOFTWOOD TREE LIMBS AS IT MOVED NORTHEAST TO COUNTY ROAD 725. ONCE IT REACHED THE INTERSECTION OF COUNTY ROAD 725 AND US HIGHWAY 486... IT WAS UPROOTING HARDWOOD TREES. NUMEROUS LARGE HARDWOOD TREES WERE UPROOTED AND SNAPPED ALONG US HIGHWAY 486; IN ADDITION TO PEELING OFF PORTIONS OF A TIN ROOF FROM A BARN. SEVERAL SOFTWOOD TREES WERE UPROOTED AND SNAPPED WHEN IT CROSSED COUNTY ROAD 729... AND A DOWNED POWER-POLE WAS SEEN NEARBY LIKELY CAUSED BY ONE OF THE AFOREMENTIONED TREES FALLING ON TOP OF IT. MULTIPLE SNAPPED SOFTWOOD TREES OCCURRED AT COUNTY ROAD 1715 AS IT CONTINUED ITS NORTHEASTWARD TREK. ONCE THE TORNADO INTERSECTED HIGHWAY 16... LARGE BROKEN SOFTWOOD TREE LIMBS WERE NOTED. IT CONTINUED TO MO

Tornado Report Description: AN EF-0 TORNADO DEVELOPED NEAR THE INTERSECTION OF HIGHWAYS 485 AND 15 SNAPPING A FEW LARGE SOFTWOOD TREE LIMBS. THE TORNADO MOVED TO JUST NORTH OF HWY 485 AND IMPACTED AN RV PARK WHERE A FEW SOFTWOOD TREES WERE SNAPPED AND UPROOTED. A FEW MORE TREE LIMBS WERE BROKEN ALONG HWY 15 BEFORE THE TORNADO DISSIPATED.

Tornado Report Description: EF-0 TORNADO BRIEFLY TOUCHED DOWN NEAR THE INTERSECTION OF HIGHWAY 15 AND 19. IT BLEW OUT THE DOORS AND SOME INSULATION FROM A LARGE METAL SHOP AND CAUSED MINOR DAMAGE TO NEARBY TREES. THE TORNADO WAS OBSERVED BY FIRE DEPARTMENT PERSONNEL AND REPORTED BY NESHOBA COUNTY EM.

Tornado Report Description: EF-0 WITH MAX WINDS OF 85 MPH. PATH LENGTH: 0.29 MILES. MAX WIDTH: 50 YARDS. THE TORNADO BEGAN ALONG RUSSELL COMMUNITY ROAD WHERE IT UPROOTED MANY SOFTWOOD TREES. IT ALSO CAUSED MINOR ROOF DAMAGE AND BLEW THE SKIRTING OFF OF A MOBILE HOME AS WELL AS BLEW THE TIN OFF OF A CHICKEN HOUSE. IT THEN CONTINUED TO THE NORTH-NORTHEAST AND UPROOTED MORE TREES ALONG JANE ROAD BEFORE IT DISSIPATED.

Tornado Report Description: THIS TORNADO STARTED JUST SOUTH OF COUNTY ROAD 236 WHERE IT TORE THE TIN ROOF OFF OF A HOME AND DESTROYED AN OUTBUILDING. A FEW HARDWOOD TREES WERE ALSO SNAPPED AT THIS LOCATION. THE TORNADO CONTINUED NORTHEAST TO COUNTY ROAD 240 WHERE IT UPROOTED A HARDWOOD TREE AND ALSO SNAPPED A FEW SOFTWOOD TREES. THE TORNADO ENDED JUST NORTH OF COUNTY ROAD 240 SNAPPING A FEW MORE TREES ALONG THE WAY. PATH LENGTH...0.7 MILES. MAXIMUM WIDTH 50 YARDS. EF1 WITH 105 MPH PEAK WINDS.

Tornado Report Description: This tornado touched down along Highway 25 in far northeast Leake County. It tracked northeast for roughly 3 miles and crossed the far northwestern corner of Neshoba County and then into the southwestern portion of Winston County, where it crossed Highway 19. Much of this path occurred in the damage path of the large Louisville tornado from April 2014. Along Highway 25, the initial damage was to a home where part of the roof was torn off with roofing debris thrown onto the highway. The remainder of the damage was snapped or uprooted trees as it moved northeast. The estimated maximum wind speed was 100 mph.

Tornado Report Description: This tornado started along Coosa Rd, about a mile or so north of the other tornado, and tracked northeast to just past the Neshoba County line at Thompson Rd. This damage was only to pine trees as dozens were damaged along the path as it crossed Mars Hill Rd, Mooney Rd, and Remus Rd. The estimated maximum wind speed was 95 mph.

Tornado Report Description: This tornado began near the intersection of County Road 248 and County Road 347 and tracked east-northeast through the Beatline community crossing Highway 19 at Bethsaida and ended along County Road 450. The roof of a chicken house was damaged and a shed was destroyed. A mobile home was destroyed by fallen trees. Several trees were snapped or uprooted. The maximum estimated wind speed was 105 mph.

Tornado Report Description: This tornado first touched down in northeastern Leake County, where the damage was mostly downed trees. As the tornado approached the 4 corners intersection of Leake, Attala, Neshoba, and Winston Counties, it strengthened and began to impact structures. Several mobile homes, medal buildings and single family homes were damaged or destroyed in this area along Highway 25. The tornado continued northeast impacting rural areas of southwest Winston County. There it intensified and began to produce EF3 and some areas of EF4 damage. Numerous homes were destroyed, trees were debarked and severe damage occurred to several chicken farms. The EF4 damage in this area was a building reduced to a slab and a chicken farm that was completely wiped away.||At this point, the tornado made a turn to a more northerly course and continued to cause EF2 and EF3 damage just south of Louisville. The tornado entered the city of Louisville on the south side along Highway 15 and continued north-northeast through the east side of the city. Widespread EF3 and EF4 damage occurred in this area. Of particular note, several industrial buildings were destroyed and an area of homes and apartments was destroyed, a few of them being completely taken down to the slab.||The tornado continued through the east side of Louisville causing mainly EF3 damage. Of particular note, the Winston Medical Center received heavy damage and became incapable of use. The tornado continued moving north-northeast roughly along McCullough Road causing EF3 and EF4 damage. Numerous homes had their roofs and walls removed and some were reduced to slabs. Near the intersection with Louisville-Brooksville Road, two particularly well built homes were very heavily damaged and received EF4 ratings.||From this point, the tornado began to weaken, causing mainly EF2 and EF3 damage along North Columbus Avenue. As it approached a second intersection with Highway 25, the tornado lifted after traveling on the ground for over 34 miles.

Tornado Report Description: This tornado first touched along County Road 610, then tracked across County Road 743 and lifted east of County Road 761. A roof was torn off a single family home, the roofs were torn off several mobile homes, several metal outbuildings were heavily damaged and numerous trees were snapped and uprooted. The damage pattern was convergent in nature and several objects were thrown in the opposite direction of the storm���s path.

Tornado Report Description: This tornado caused mainly tree damage except where it crossed County Road 519 where a mobile home was pushed off its foundation, a metal and wood frame building was destroyed, and a roof to a well built home was damaged. Maximum winds were estimated at 100 mph.

Tornado Report Description: This tornado caused a path of extensive damage in northeast Neshoba, extreme northwest Kemper, extreme southeast Winston, and southwest Noxubee Counties. The most intense damage occurred in a several mile area from extreme northeast Neshoba County into extreme southeast Winston County. Much of the damage in the core of the tornado in this area was rated as high end EF-3 to EF-5. The three fatalities occurred in northwest Kemper County when a strapped down double-wide mobile home was thrown a distance of approximately 300 yards into a treeline, and then obliterated with the debris and framing scattered many hundreds of yards down the path. There was no indication of ground impacts between the original site of the mobile home and where it ended up to indicate that the mobile home bounced extensively as it traveled. Two traditional frame brick homes in southeast Winston County were completely leveled with only a few small parts of interior walls standing. New vehicles were thrown or rolled hundreds of yards before being wrapped into trees and left almost beyond recognition. In parts of northeast Neshoba and northwest Kemper Counties, there was very high end tree damage with extensive denuding and debarking of trees, along with areas where the ground was scoured out to a depth of two feet in places, and asphalt was scoured off pavement. Maximum sustained winds were estimated at 205 mph. Total path length was 29 miles.||This was the first EF-5 tornado in Mississippi since the Candlestick Park tornado on May 3, 1966. Additionally, this was the first time since statistics have been kept that two EF-5 tornadoes have been recorded on the same day in Mississippi, with the tornado in Smithville also rated as an EF-5.

Tornado Report Description: The tornado started just west of County Road 450, downing some pine trees. As it crossed County Road 450, it began downing numerous trees, pushed a mobile home over, and damaged the roof of a house. The tornado intensified as it cross MS Highway 491, destroying a large portion of two chicken houses down to the ground, and causing extensive tree damage. The tornado then appeared to weaken slightly as it crossed County Road 729 and then crossed into Kemper County near White Store Road. Numerous trees were snapped, and a home suffered some minor to moderate damage along County Road 729.||The tornado intensified as it approached Little Rock Road and MS Highway 495. The tornado reached an EF-3 intensity at this location, causing extensive structural damage to two frame homes, completely destroying two mobile homes and carrying the remains some distance, snapping several power poles, and causing intense tree damage with some denuded trees. The tornado weakened a bit from here, but continued to cause extensive tree damage and downed power poles and lines as it moved east-northeast. As the tornado crossed Highway 16 for the first time west of De Kalb, it continued to cause EF-2 type damage, destroying several mobile homes, heavily damaging the second story of a frame home, and causing roof damage to other frame homes. Extensive tree and power line damage also occurred in this area.||As the tornado crossed Neely Town Road north of DeKalb it again caused EF-3 type damage, completely destroying a double-wide mobile home and wrapping the frame around trees several hundred yards away and carrying the remnants across a road a considerable distance away, along with intense tree damage including denuded trees, and snapped power poles. It also destroyed another mobile home and caused roof damage to nearby frame homes. It continued east, causing extensive tree damage across MS Highway 39, and then caused EF-3 damage again as it crossed Old DeKalb-Scooba Road. Tree damage was the most impressive of anywhere along the track in this area, with large swaths of area where nearly every tree was snapped and many trees were denuded. Additionally, a frame home suffered heavy damage with the roof mainly gone and some walls heavily damaged, another home had heavy roof damage, and some outbuildings were destroyed. This was also where the tornado reached its maximum width of three-quarters of a mile.||The tornado then weakened somewhat and narrowed as it crossed MS Highway 16 west of Scooba. Numerous trees and a couple of power poles were snapped in this area. The tornado then crossed US Highway 45 south of Scooba where it was relatively narrow but intense with damage on the border of EF-2/EF-3. A large warehouse building was totally destroyed, a pickup truck was moved a considerable distance, intense tree damage occurred with some denuding, and three homes suffered roof damage.||After crossing US Highway 45, the tornado widened again, and caused heavy damage in the area east of Scooba, particularly along MS Highway 16 near Giles Road. The tornado caused heavy roof damage to several homes and intense tree damage, with some denuding of trees occurring again. A number of power poles were snapped in the area as well. The tornado crossed into Alabama along and north of MS Highway 16. Maximum winds were around 140 mph. Path length in Mississippi was 38 miles. Total path length for both MS/AL was 48.5 miles.

Tornado Report Description: This weak tornado touched down just southwest of county road 151 and tracked northeast for almost two miles. Two homes sustained minor damage, one had a porch damaged and shingles were torn off the other. Two out buildings had their roofs blown off. Several trees were snapped or uprooted along the path. This tornado touched down in the Hope Community, just southwest of the Pearl River Resort along County Road 151.

Tornado Report Description: This strong tornado briefly touched down between the Tucker and Bloomfield Communities. One brick home had its entire roof blown off, a large outbuilding was destroyed and a tractor was picked up and rolled. Additionally, numerous trees were snapped and uprooted along the short path.

Tornado Report Description: This tornado quickly developed after the one which crossed from Newton County dissipated. Numerous trees were snapped and uprooted along the path. Two homes were damaged which included roof and wall damage. Additionally, several outbuildings were damaged or destroyed.

Tornado Report Description: This tornado moved into Neshoba County from Newton County near the Neville Community. Numerous trees were snapped and uprooted. Three homes were damaged with one home having the roof taken off and blown several hundred feet away. Additionally, four chicken houses were destroyed just inside Neshoba County. Total path length across both Newton and Neshoba Counties was 5.3 miles.

Tornado Report Description: This tornado touched down just south of the airport and downed many trees as it crossed State Highway 15 two miles northwest of Philadelphia. The tornado continued to move northwest for 2 more miles before it dissipated.

Tornado Report Description: This strong tornado touched down just south of the House Community and tracked west-northwest for 3 miles. Several hundred trees were uprooted or snapped along the path with a few outbuildings and homes damaged by fallen trees. Additionally, numerous power lines were taken down as the tornado tracked across a few county roads as well as State Highway 492.
