Tornado Report Description: A National Weather Service Storm Survey team confirmed an EF1 tornado in Clarendon County that occurred within a wide swath of damaging winds... extending from Swansea to Lake Marion. Based on ground observations and radar... the tornado likely developed over Lake Marion... just east of Lone Star before emerging over land near Hickory Top Road. The tornado snapped numerous limbs and large branches along Old River Road as it moved southeast. The tornado strengthened and caused substantial tree and power line damage near Old River Road and Clifton Road and then further east near Liberty Hill Road and Rapid Edge Trail. Moving southeast... minor tree damage occurred across Highway 15 and I95. Numerous trees were then uprooted along MG Hemingway Road. The tornado slowly weakened causing minor damage across Washington Davis Road before dissipating near Bill Davis Road at approximately 5:14 PM EDT.

Tornado Report Description: THE FIRST POINT OF DAMAGE WAS FOUND AT CAMP BOB COOPER WHERE THERE WERE MULTIPLE TREES DOWN ACROSS THE CAMP. THERE WAS ALSO DAMAGE TO TWO DOCKS AND MINOR ROOF DAMAGE TO ONE OF THE CABINS. THE TORNADO MOVED ACROSS A COVE ON LAKE MARION TO LESESNE DRIVE. THERE WAS WIDESPREAD TREE DAMAGE. TREES WERE EITHER UPROOTED OR SNAPPED AND FELL ON HOMES... VEHICLE AND BOATS. IT CONTINUED MOVING NORTH-NORTHEAST TO PATRIOT ROAD NEAR ROCKFISH DRIVE. THERE WERE SEVERAL MOBILE HOMES WHICH SUSTAINED DAMAGE. ONE WAS COMPLETELY DESTROYED WITH JUST THE CINDER BLOCK SUPPORTS REMAINING. ANOTHER WAS PARTIALLY DESTROYED WITH THE BACKSIDE ADDITION OF THE HOME COLLAPSED. THE TORNADO CONTINUED NORTHEAST CAUSING DAMAGE TO TREES AND MINOR DAMAGE TO HOMES ALONG MALIBU DRIVE AND BEAVER DRIVE BEFORE LIFTING JUST PAST DURANT LANE AT APPROXIMATELY 2:33 PM. THE PATH LENGTH WAS ABOUT 2.9 MILES WITH MAXIMUM WIND SPEEDS OF 120 MPH AND A MAXIMUM WIDTH OF 250 YARDS.
