Wind Report Description: An NWS storm survey observed evidence of straight line wind damage in extreme southwest Jim Wells county, in and near Premont. A large empty grain silo was destroyed near CR 428 and CR 716 and lying in a southeast direction across the roadway. Power poles were knocked down and large limbs snapped off trees along CR 716 just west of Premont. Five homes along CR 716 were also observed to have minor window and roof damage. On garage was completly destoyed, with the debris blown downwind to the southeast. Large limbs of trees were also snapped in Premont. Winds were estimated between 70 and 90 mph.

Tornado Report Description: An EF0 tornado touched down in the city of Premont near the intersection of Northwest 3rd Street and South Cora Street. The tornado traveled south and briefly produced EF1 damage near Southeast 5th Street and Southern Bernice Street. Partial roof damage was observed to a few homes, numerous large tree limbs were snapped, and one tree was completely uprooted. The tornado continues south of the Premont city limits and regained EF1 status near the intersection of Highway 281 and East County Road 401. Numerous power poles were snapped at their mid-point and several poles were leaning in a southerly direction.

The tornado continued west into Duval County for roughly another 1/2 to 1 mile. While in Jim Wells County the tornado produced F0 damage, including minor damage to a mobile home, and numerous trees and fences snapped and broken.
