Wind Report Description: NWS storm survey concluded that straight line winds of approximately 80 mph swept across northeastern Nueces County affecting the communities of Calallen and Annaville. A large metal building was partially destroyed along Highway 44 about 5 miles west of Robstown. A poorly constructed car wash in Calallen was destroyed. There was also damage at Oil Belt Park where several light poles were snapped, a fence was blown down, and a small wooden structure was blown apart. Bleachers were blown up against a fence. Extensive tree damage occurred in the Calallen and Annaville areas. An 18 wheeler was flipped on Interstate 37 near the Clarkwood interchange. A poorly constructed building on North Beach was damaged. Brush pickup and disposal cost the city of Corpus Christi half of a million dollars.
