Wind Report Description: A cold front moved into eastern New York on the afternoon of July 25th resulting in severe thunderstorms across parts of the area. The majority of damage from thunderstorm winds consisted of downed trees and powerlines. A Lightning strike also caused a fire which damaged a home in Herkimer. The most significant damage occurred in Cortland County where flash flooding occurred along Grout Brook and Cold Brook in the Towns of Scott and Preble. Among the areas hardest hit were Webber Park, Cold Brook Road, West Scott Road, Long Road, and Old State Road.
