Hail Report Description: ,2 to 4 inches of rain fell across the eastern half of Travis County between 1600CST and 1700CST, causing flash flooding along Wilbarger Creek. Around 2000CST, a 21-year old man drove his delivery van down Bitting School Road into the deep water some 7 miles east of Manor near the Bastop County line. The van became stalled and the man was swept away when he left the van and attempted to move to higher ground. Water was reported to be 9 to 12 feet deep in the creek at the time. Warnings had been placed on both sides of the road by 1800CST according to authorities. A second motorist attempted to drive across the concrete crossing over the creek and his truck became stalled as well. He was able to escape without injury, but reported seeing the previous van being swept downstream.

Wind Report Description: Winds ripped awnings and downed some trees. Sustained rains began on the evening of the 22nd with accumulations of almost 5 inches of rain at Georgetown and larger amounts inland. Many roads and streets flooded. Beach erosin reported on the morning of the 23rd. Highway 14 near Pleasant Hill closed by flooding on 23rd.

Tornado Report Description: A small tornado struck suddenly from a relatively weak thunderstorm. The tornado severely damaged six homes will lesser damage to seven other homes, destroyed some outbuildings and carports, and downed numerous trees and power lines. One person sustained minor injuries. Because it hit a populated section damage was quite high for a small tornado (estimated at $500,000).

Tornado Report Description: A weak tornado touched down on the south side of Bay Minette damaging the roof on one house, the roof on a lumber company, and destroying a mobile home. A number of trees and power lines were also downed. According to information from Emergency Management officials, the small tornado touched down near Faulkner State Community College where power lines were downed. It moved across the southern part of Bay Minette with a narrow path.

Tornado Report Description: A tornado produced a damage path 1.6 miles in length and about 100 yards wide on a northeasterly track. The first damage occurred about 1 miles east of Cleveland in central Blount County. After damaging or destroying several mobile homes and a couple of permanent structures, the tornado crossed U. S. Highway 231 and continued northeast damaging several more structures and another mobile home. All five injuries occurred in mobile homes, three in one and two in another. Injuries to one man required 100 stitches.

Tornado Report Description: This tornado touched down 1 mile northwest of Magee in Simpson County moved northeast and moved into Smith County, 4 miles southwest of Cohay, at 2225CST. The tornado moved across Smith County and moved into Jasper County, 4 miles west of Louin, at around 2300CST. The tornado lifted at 2315CST 3 miles south of Baxter. The most intense segment of this tornado (F3) was when it moved across the north portions of Magee. Forty to fifty houses or mobile homes had major damage. Two people were killed in Magee when a large tree fell across their mobile home. Most of the damage in Smith County was to trees and power lines. In Jasper County, several chicken houses were destroyed around Montrose and most other damage as to trees. The tornado was weaker in Smith and Jasper counties and ranged from F0-F1. F38M M02M

Tornado Report Description: The tornado touched down 5 miles northwest of Jackson and moved east-northeast, and exited the county, 7 miles northeast of Jackson at 2055CST. The tornado then moved across Rankin County before lifting 1 mile northeast of Fannin. Numerous homes were damaged, many trees and power lines were blown down, and several small buildings were destroyed.

Tornado Report Description: The tornado touched down 4 miles south of Fitler in Issaquena county, then traveled northeast and moved into Sharkey county, 3 miles southwest of Onward. The tornado lifted 2 miles southeast of Onward. Four mobile homes and 4 frame houses were destroyed. Many trees and power lines were blown down. Two people were injured in a house near Fitler.

Tornado Report Description: The tornado started two miles east-southeast of Neshoba and traveled northeast and crossed into Kemper county, 5 miles west of Cleveland. The tornado was on the ground a short time in Kemper county and lifted three miles west-northwest of Cleveland. Numerous trees were blown down or snapped off along the path. Three houses, two mobile homes, and a Masonic Lodge were destroyed. Nine other dwellings sustained major damage and 26 sustained minor damage. Damage estimates were placed at $1 million.

Wind gusts estimated between 55 and 65 mph were reported in several locations with property damage generally confined to downed trees. Tornado Report Description: The tornado started just southwest of Germantown and moved northeast through the eastern part of Shelby County and then continued into the northwest part of Fayette County. Three persons were killed in Germantown when the tornado struck a home where 16 people had gathered for a family reunion. Twenty-five persons were injured in the Germantown area. Overall, 28 homes were destroyed and 300 other homes were damaged. Houston High School was badly damaged and a nearby church sustained significant damage.
