Hail Report Description: Hail covered ground one to two inches deep in and near Wiggins in western Morgan County. Thunderstorms containing heavy rain and large hail moved northeastward off of the foothills and onto the plains. The counties of Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Denver, Larimer, Morgan, Washington and Weld were the most affected by the line of thunderstorms. Costly damage was sustained to homes and vehicles in the urban corridor area with only minor street flooding reported. Emergency claim teams from insurance companies were sent out due to the overwhelming number of claims. Total damage estimates from the hail storm was at $174 million with $96.5 million for homes and $77.0 million for automobiles.

Hail Report Description: A tropical depression moving northeast across the north Gulf of Mexico caused tides about 3 feet above normal along the coastal areas of extreme southeast Louisiana. Water covered a portion of Louisiana Highway 1 near Grand Isle on October 1st and 2nd, and minor damage to roads and ramps was reported on Grand Isle because of high tides. Coastal flooding across the remainder of southeast Louisiana was confined to low lying areas near the coast, and outside of protection levees.
