Wind Report Description: Thunderstorm wind damage began about half a mile north of Lake Street on the west side of New Bedford Reservoir in Acushnet. Damage extended to the south-southeast ending at the intersection of Main Street and Perry Hill Road. Numerous trees were either blown over or snapped at a level between 8 and 14 feet above the ground. Near Athol Street, a concentration of white pines were snapped off approximately 15 feet off the ground. These trees ranged in diameter from 12 to 20 inches. Three houses were damaged by trees falling on them. On the west side of Main Street just to the northwest of the golf course, numerous oak trees were blown over or had large branches blown off. Also, numerous white pine trees standing between 30 and 45 feet tall were blown over or snapped off between 12 and 20 feet above the ground. Numerous power lines were also downed. A mile long section of North Main Street was closed because almost every utility pole was damaged. Leonard and Lake Streets were also closed because of downed trees and power lines.Based on the amount of tree damage and the good health and size of the trees it was estimated that windspeeds reached 80 to 100 mph. Damage was determined to be the result of straight line winds most likely associated with a microburst.

Tornado Report Description: An EF1 tornado embedded in a rain band from Tropical Storm Fay moved onshore and struck the manufactured home community of Barefoot Bay. The tornado destroyed 9 mobile homes and damaged 59. The tornado blew the roof off and collapsed the exterior walls of the most severely damaged mobile home. Dozens of lightweight out buildings, awnings and car ports were damaged. Two minor injuries were reported.

Tornado Report Description: Tornado moved through a number of Equine Farms and Polo Grounds as well as two subdivisions in Wellington. Worst damage was to Palm Beach Equine Clinic, 13125 Southfield Road, where roofs were blown off of stables, power poles snapped, and many trees down in criss-crossing patterns. The Equine Veterinary roof was more than 95 percent detiled, a heavy trailer was tossed about 40 yards from its previous location northwest of the International Polo Club, and an apartment home roof near Folkstone Circle was about 70 percent detiled. Maximum estimated wind speed was around 115 MPH. Most of the track was around 70 to 80 yards wide, but at the widest point the tornado was around 100 yards in width.
