Wind Report Description: A severe thunderstorm produced a damaging downburst near the intersection of US Highways 65 and 165. A carport was ripped off a home, causing structural damage to the rear of the home, and numerous shingles were blown off the west side of the house. A large radio antenna was also blown over. At the same location, a large part of a roof of a commercial building was blown off. In the nearby vicinity, a billboard sign was snapped and blown over, a small carport was flipped and blown across a road, and a fence and three empty eighteen wheeler trailers were pushed over. Additionally, a number of trees were snapped and uprooted. All of the damage was laid out from northwest to southeast and appeared straight line in nature. Maximum winds were estimated at 90 mph.

Wind Report Description: Near Zion, a microburst containing estimated winds near 85 mph occurred along Highway 351. One pole barn was destroyed, and one garage was damaged. The house sustained damage to porch columns, and two windows were broken. Several large trees were downed or uprooted. The damage area was about one-half mile long and one-quarter mile wide. At Spottsville, a trained spotter estimated wind gusts were near 65 mph. Emergency managers reported many trees and limbs down at unspecified locations across the county, causing roadway blockages and some spotty power outages.

The shed roof was deposited in trees. Both the feed mill and shed sustained water damage due to rainwater. Shingles were torn off roofs around town. Trees and limbs were blown down across the city, resulting in power outages. A tree limb struck a porch on a trailer. Signs were blown over.

Tornado Report Description: The tornado began at approximately 12:33 AM EDT around 6 miles west of North Vernon along County Road 700 West between County Roads 150 North and 300 North. The tornado destroyed a pole barn, damaged 2 homes, overturned tractors, downed trees and telephone poles, and laid down a corn field before lifting around 12:34 AM EDT. One of the homes had its roof blown off. There were no injuries. The path was approximately a half mile long and 75 yards wide. Based on the damage, the tornado was rated an EF1 on the Enhanced Fujita scale with winds estimated near 100 mph.

Powerlines were downed, the roof was blown off a pumphouse as well as a baseball dugout, and some playground equipment was flipped over. The damage started just west of Radio Station Road and ended along Blue Lake Road. Maximum winds were estimated at 95 mph.

Tornado Report Description: This short-lived tornado occurred along Highway 813. One framed home and one mobile home were destroyed. There was minor damage to two framed homes. Four sheds were destroyed. Power lines were blown down. Several large trees were downed or uprooted. The destroyed mobile home was thrown about 30 feet into a tree. The lone resident of the mobile home was ejected, but he sustained no injuries requiring treatment. The destroyed framed home lost most of the roof, and bricks were shifted. Peak winds were estimated near 120 mph.

Tornado Report Description: The tornado started out producing a relatively narrow path of tree damage along Township Road. It moved southeast through the Stanton subdivision, heavily damaging four trailer homes and caused minor to moderate damage to several other homes and outbuildings. It continued to move southeast causing tree damage, and widened as it moved into the northwest side of the city of Cleveland. As the tornado moved through the north side of Cleveland, it snapped and uprooted numerous trees, blew the signs out of several restaurants and stores, blew the doors out of the automotive area of a department store, and blew out a wall and a large part of a roof of another commercial building. Several homes suffered shingle damage and power lines were downed. The tornado then turned more eastward, continuing to cause tree damage as it moved along and just north of State Highway 8 east of Cleveland. Additional power lines were downed and a few more homes suffered minor roof damage due to wind or branches falling on them. As the tornado crossed into Sunflower County it moved more southeast again. It snapped several wooden power poles along and just south of Highway 8 along Mallette-Jones Road, along with destroying a greenhouse type structure and causing some roof damage to a frame home. The tornado continued to cause tree damage in a relatively narrow path as it crossed Walker Road, and then dissipated before reaching Lusk Road. Maximum wind speeds were estimated at 100 mph.
