Wind Report Description: The Silver City Sun News reported that two large trees fell on vehicles in Santa Clara with one of them possibly totaled. One of the vehicles was a Hummer. Recent heavy rainfall likely saturated the ground around the trees prior to the event. No thunderstorm affected the Santa Clara area, but outflow from dying storms to the north moved through the area. The peak gust reported at the Silver City Airport was 46 mph.

Tornado Report Description: A SKYWARN (TM) spotter reported a tornado in an un-populated area west of Clint Moore Rd. and the Florida Turnpike at 1633 EDT. The spotter reported a duration of approximately 2 minutes with no lingering funnel cloud. A member of the public and a Fish and Wildlife Service employee also reported this tornado. Since no damage was reported due to its location west of the metro area, the EF0 rating is only a rough estimate.
After a tornado, the National Weather Service assigns an EF rating from EF0 to EF5 based on surveyed damage. The rating estimates wind speed from what the tornado damaged, so actual damage can vary by construction quality, roof age, garage doors, windows, trees, debris, and how close the home was to the tornado path.
