Wind Report Description: The Floyd County Emergency Management Director reported that at least a dozen trees were blown down by strong thunderstorm winds across the northern half of the county. Trees were down in Armuchee on McGrady Road, Wayside Road in Shannon, near the Rome Airport, Parris Drive, and at Horseleg Creek Road just southwest of Rome. Tree debris was observed in the roadway at Shorter Avenue and a business sign was blown into the roadway at Huffaker and Shorter Avenue in Rome. The ASOS at the Rome Airport (RMG), about five miles north of the city of Rome, recorded a wind gust of 50 mph.

The public reported that part of a tin roof was blown off an outbuilding just southwest of Rome. Trees were down on Avenue D in Rome and Pine Ridge Drive near Silver Creek. Power lines were down on Drexel Drive, west of Rome, as well as Rockmart Road and Pine Ridge Drive in Rome.

Wind Report Description: The Floyd County Emergency Management Director reported extensive and widespread damage to trees, power lines, and property across Floyd county as a line of severe thunderstorms tracked from northwest to southeast across the county. Hundreds of trees were down across the county, many of which fell on power lines. Dozens of homes and other structures were also damaged by the downed trees. At least five house fires were the result of downed trees and power lines. Many roads across the county were blocked throughout the night from numerous downed trees.

Tornado Report Description: A survey conducted by the National Weather Service in Peachtree City, GA concluded that a second and stronger F1 tornado affected far northern Cobb county and continued eastward into North Fulton county. The tornado touched down in the Noonday community or about seven miles north of Marietta just south of the intersection fo Canton Road/Georgia Highway 5 and Jamerson Road and traveled east a more or less continuous 18-mile long path into North Fulton county. Substantial damage was reported to homes and trees at the tornado's initial touchdown point in the Jamerson subdivision. At least 60 homes in the Jamerson subdivision sustained damage, 10 with major damage and 50 with minor damage. In addition, at least 200 trees were down in this area. Intermittent damage continued eastward from this point toward North Fulton county. Minor damage was reported to several homes in the Sweat Mountain area just before the tornado crossed into North Fulton county. Within Cobb county, this tornado traveled a 7-mile long path with a path width of anywhere from 10 to 200 yards.
