Tornado Report Description: An EF-1 tornado touched down near the intersection of Lizelia Road and Ponta Hills Road and uprooted or snapped trees as it moved north-northeast. As it approached Naval Air Station Meridian... the tornado took a more northeastward movement and crossed the central portion of the station. Several buildings were damaged... including one which suffered extensive roof damage... partial collapse of the brick veneer... broken windows... and subsequent interior water damage. The fire station doors were blown in... and some vehicles were damaged. The tornado turned more to the east as it moved off the air station and dissipated after it crossed Clarke Road. Path length 9.21 mi... max width 630 yds... peak wind 105 mph.

Tornado Report Description: *** 1 INJ *** THIS EF-2 TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN NEAR RUSSELL TOPTON RD AND TRACKED 7.3 MI WITH A MAXIMUM WIDTH OF 550 YDS AND MAXIMUM WINDS OF 120 MPH...AND IT LIFTED JUST AFTER CROSSING HWY 45 AND OLD HWY 45 N. IT PRODUCED SIGNIFICANT TREE DAMAGE AND DESTROYED SEVERAL MOBILE HOMES ALONG ITS PATH. 10 TO 11 PEOPLE WERE THROWN FROM THEIR HOMES WITH JUST JUST ONE INJURY.

Tornado Report Description: The tornado began near the intersection of King Road and Mississippi Highway 495. It tracked northeast along King Road. It then moved across Mississippi Highway 493 and Espey Hedgepeth Road before it lifted just beyond Mount Carmel Road. Numerous pine trees were snapped and several homes experienced roof damage along the path. A shed was also destroyed. The estimated maximum wind speed was 110 mph.

Tornado Report Description: This tornado touched down just west of Van Zyverden Road and moved northeast for almost 2 miles and passed near Northeast High School. The tornado dissipated less than 1 mile south of the intersection of Ponta Hills Road and Lizella Road. A farm shed was destroyed along with numerous downed trees, some of which caused damage to homes. One mobile home was flipped over on Hamm Road along with several power lines taken down along the path.

Tornado Report Description: This tornado touched down just east of US Highway 45 and tracked west-northwest for 3 miles. As this weak tornado crossed Highway 45, numerous trees were snapped and uprooted. This similar tree damaged continued for another 2 miles before the tornado dissipated. In addition to the numerous trees, a few power lines were blown down west of Highway 45.
