Hail Report Description: The devastating hailstorm moved eastward out of Pulaski County, and continued east across all of Lonoke County. The hail swath about 10 miles wide. The hail ranged in size from the size of nickels (0.88 inch) to the size of baseballs (2.75 inches). Communities affected included South Bend, Parnell, Furlow, Fairview, Brownsville, Lonoke, and Carlisle. ||The largest hail fell a few miles north and northeast of Lonoke, where much of the hail was golf ball size (1.75 inches) to baseball size (2.75 inches). The hailstones ruined roofs, damaged siding on houses, broke windows in houses, broke car windshields, killed birds perched in trees, and destroyed gardens and crops. The worst damage was found in the vicinity of these roads: Plafcan Rd., Fred Koch Rd., Watson Lane, E. Watson Rd., Ferguson Ln., Wesley Kittler Rd., Kittler Rd., E. Schafer Rd., Raymond Schafer Rd., Brownsville Loop, Arkansas Highway 13, Lawson Rd., Lilly Rd., Oakdale Rd., Northcutt Rd., D.K. Bennett Rd., Bud Young Rd., and Arkansas Highway 31.||The University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service indicated that between 22 and 27 farmers lost 60% to 100% of their crops. Altogether, about 26,000 acres of crops were lost, including 16,260 acres of soybeans, 8,130 acres of rice, and 1,600 acres of corn. Corn stalks that were 8 feet tall were cut in half and soybeans were beaten to the ground.||For the sake of completeness, all hail reports received by the National Weather Service are listed individually.

Tornado Report Description: *** 2 INJ *** THE NWS IN LITTLE ROCK SURVEYED A TORNADO THAT STARTED IN FAR SOUTHEAST PULASKI COUNTY AND NORTHEAST INTO SOUTHWEST LONOKE COUNTY. THE TORNADO TRAVELED ALONG A 6.4 MILE PATH... AND WAS 150 YARDS AT ITS WIDEST. THE TORNADO WAS RATED AS AN EF-1 TORNADO AND DESTROYED 2 MOBILE HOMES ALONG ITS PATH. THERE WERE 2 MINOR INJURIES ASSOCIATED WITH ONE OF THE DESTROYED MOBILE HOMES. THERE WAS ALSO SOME TREE DAMAGE AND DOWNED POWER POLES ALONG THE TORNADO PATH.

Tornado Report Description: A tornado knocked down trees and power lines. One house in the Wampoo area suffered considerable damage. In that same area, thousands of corn husks were blown off farm fields and were piled up in roadside ditches. The tornado exited Pulaski County 2.9 miles east of Wampoo and entered Lonoke County 3.1 miles south of Keo.

Tornado Report Description: A tornado destroyed 51 large steel power transmission towers. These towers carried 500 kilovolt transmission lines. For the most part, the towers fell into open farm fields, but one fell into a pond on a fish farm. The power cables that fell with the towers blocked a number of roads, including Arkansas Highway 31. Power poles, power lines, and trees were blown down as well.

Tornado Report Description: A tornado touched down near the Arkansas River levee and tracked through the Lands End Plantation. On the plantation, the trailer of a tractor-trailer truck was overturned, an old cotton gin was destroyed, and a 150 year-old pecan orchard was severely damaged. After leaving the plantation, numerous large trees were blown down and outbuildings were damaged. A mobile home was destroyed and its occupant was badly injured. Another mobile home was knocked off its foundation. A 250-gallon propane tank was ripped from its foundation and came unplugged. The tornado exited Pulaski County north-northeast of Wampoo and continued into Lonoke County west-southwest of Willow Belle.

Tornado Report Description: The Pulaski County tornado moved into Lonoke County about 4 miles west-northwest of Bevis Corners around 816 am CDT. A trailer was overturned and destroyed near Bearskin Lake. Several trees were also knocked down in the area. More trees were blown down farther northeast along Bearskin Lake. The last noted damage was about 3.5 miles northwest of Bevis Corners where some roof damage occurred to several houses.
