A trained storm spotter in New Mobeetie (Wheeler County) reported several tree limbs up to 12 inches in diameter blown down at a school on 5th Street (Wheeler County). The storm that produced this damage continued moving to the south across the county.

THE TORNADO DID MINOR DAMAGE AROUND A RESIDENCE WHICH INCLUDED VERY MINOR DAMAGE TO THE HOME ROOF CAP... A ROLLED AND DISPLACED AIR CONDITIONER UNIT... AND DESTROYED FREE STANDING ANTENNA TOWER. FOUR 10 INCH POWER POLES WERE SNAPPED WHERE THE TORNADO CROSSED A NEARBY COUNTY ROAD. A DAMAGE SURVEY WAS DONE ON AUGUST 17.
