THE TORNADO REACHED ITS STRONGEST INTENSITY OF EF2 STRENGTH AS IT NEARED 23RD STREET. HERE IT SNAPPED A COUPLE OF POWER POLES... ALONG WITH MULTIPLE HARDWOOD AND SOFTWOOD TREES. IN ADDITION... IT TORE THE ROOF OFF OF AN APARTMENT BUILDING AND A PORTION OF A BUILDING AT MAGNOLIA MIDDLE SCHOOL. Tornado Report Description: The tornado touched down on County Road 356 producing minor roof damage to a couple of homes. As the tornado continued to the northeast, a tin roof was peeled back on a home on MS Highway 145 and a fence was blown over at a residence. The tornado uprooted a few trees along the path. The tornado finally ended near MS Highway 145 and US Highway 45 as it caused minor roof damage to a residence. Maximum winds were estimated at 80 mph.

Tornado Report Description: This tornado began near the Lauderdale-Clarke county line about one quarter of a mile from Sam Gray Road. Along the path, a roof was blown off a house and a barn was damaged. Numerous trees were blown down along the path with some trees on a church. A portion of Highway 45 was closed due to trees across the road. Maximum winds were around 95 mph.

Tornado Report Description: This tornado touched down just east of US Highway 45 and tracked west-northwest for 3 miles. As this weak tornado crossed Highway 45, numerous trees were snapped and uprooted. This similar tree damaged continued for another 2 miles before the tornado dissipated. In addition to the numerous trees, a few power lines were blown down west of Highway 45.

Tornado Report Description: An F2 tornado caused major damage in the Marion and Dalewood Shore Lake communities, northeast of Meridian. Two houses and thirteen mobile homes were destroyed. Eleven houses and twelve mobile homes received major damage. Thirty-three houses and twenty-two mobile homes received minor damage. Three businesses were destroyed and one business had minor damage. Thousands of trees were blown down or snapped off, and numerous power poles and power lines were also downed. Seventeen people were injured, including one in critical condition.
